I cannot imagine the experience of being present in a theater or music hall in the 16th century and hearing music such as this. It must have been otherworldly.

Vivaldi had to be the equivalent, in his time, of the heavy metal or hard rock virtuoso of our time. Bach was kind of more elevated, compositionally, more like The Beatles. Vivaldi was Eddie Van Halen or Metallica, or something. He wasn't ONLY that, of course, he could also do sublime. But I don't think anybody's music of his time 'went for it' and purely rocked out like he did. I'd love to see how audiences reacted when this stuff was debuted. I picture head-banging by dudes, girls fainting. Undergarments being thrown on stage?

This piece is almost three hundred years old, music is timeless. We are so lucky that someone decided to keep his music safe in an archive for future generations or we would have never heard this. Just think of all the music and speeches we haven’t heard until recording came into fruition. We are so much luckier than we know to live in the twenty first century.

Imagine seeing this live in the time when there was no electricity or computer generated music. In the time when this was a new release, and vivaldi is the lead violinist in this first public performance. It must have changed the life of every single person in the room. 3/28/21 edit: Wow I come back to this and I'm surprised this blew up. Anyway, I took violin lessons but stopped because it was frustratingly difficult, but beautiful, nonetheless. Much respect for these people who must've gone through a lot behind all that beautiful playing!

Until Mahler (Vienna, Austria) in 1880, concerts were quite noisy. People went to drink and eat and talk. Mahler introduced the complete silence policy in concerts as we know and behave today. I am not sure most people in this era were awake about the huge creativity they were exposed to then.

Vivaldi was an ordained priest, a born again man of God who wrote this music for his Creator. Money and fame means little to a man of this character. He is indeed in Heaven with God and very much aware of the gift he was given and the Grace that allowed him to share it with us.

The Music itself is filled with energy which is why it stands out. Summer has ended and the darker days are coming. The trees are about to be stripped of their colour, the days are shorter and darkness creeps in with the cold, a sad ending to what was once beautiful.

Pieces like these classics are never played with music sheet, theyre like concerts for violin, anyone play it with sheet music, and it's because everything have to be played close and on scales, s it's not hard to learn it. And even if she had it, IT'S NOT TOO FAST TO READ IT, that's experience reading violin sheets

I, now, edit this comment approximately 10 months later, because this has had many likes and I need to share that I found the true music, the one that really makes us feel in great pleasure and grace, this is the one that praises the Lord, Jesus Christ. Classical will always have a great technique, and sound, but spiritually, it is empty. Gospel is not wonderful because it’s technique, nor because it’s singers, but because the glory and true love of God, that shines through our hearts when we praise him. All the glory, the honor and the power to the Lord, my Savior and Father. I haven’t stopped with violin playing, but now I play musics that embrace my life and make my soul joyful. Let every living creature praise the Lord. Shout praises to the Lord! Psalms 150:6.

I cannot even for a second imagine or wonder the people of those era having the life, technology and modernisation of us now and how they will create music as compare to the era right here right now. we folks are truly blessed that such genius masterpieces were created during those times when they dont really have anything much but yet have such deep music energies in their mind n soul.
