@@Arcenmh7718 I just meant that visibly, Chloe was extremely excited and happy when it was announced at the end of the first round that Christian had been selected for the semi finals. She got on well with him at Menuhin 2018 (and with others too; there are lots of clips of her being friendly e.g. with Clara Shen).

The two first place winners are also the youngest. This goes to show that music isn't just about experience and age; musicality and talent also play a major part in who becomes first place. Congradulations to Chloe Chua and Christian Li on a well-deserved victory! They're so cute! So many small moments... congrats to you two once again!!! (lol Christian when you're short and the person won't move... you just have to stand and clap while trying to see).

@@gabrielcassagnes3194 no amount of practice makes up for a lack of talent. if so then all the old violinists would be court masters and soloists instead of young stars such as Ray Chen, or Yu-Chien Benny Tseng, or Hilary Hahn. those are just in the top of my head, i know i missed some but you get the point. all of the 3 i mentioned were very well known talents before the age of 10. The world isn't fair. life isn't fair. and its not fair to tell kids that as long as they work hard they can be the best. don't get me wrong. talent without working hard is nothing at the same time. so don't ever think that those people do not work hard as well to hone their skill and talent.

Adam PX You’re wrong, at an early age they had practiced better than others.

Chloe and Christian walking on stage and embracing the judges was one of the most heartwarming moments I've ever witnessed. Tears of joy for them both.

Nothing to actually give to the contestants, not even flowers? A little awkward... Great job to all the contestants!

Omg, the first prize is gonna be shared. This hasn’t happened before. That’s so wonderful! The two youngsters deserve it!

Fair and cotrect judgement. CHLOE n Christian were truly the best performers.

When you saw Chloe’s smile, you saw the angel.

I rarely heard Vivaldi played as these two young marvels did ! The subject in music is not a question of adult so called accomplishment, but of authenticity: Childhood often owns it, and adults rarely ! Then here, Chloe and christian master their violin, what we here is an absolute blessing, grace exhale from their entire body and soul because authenticity leads to legitimacy . Khalil Gibran said, "Children are our masters", here we are !

Both of the winners are the best,,, i listened to all final performers, only these two players that can communicate very well with the orchestra, the feeling, dynamic and articulation are on point. Congratz.

I really am happy they chose to split the prize, it was totally the right call. When you have two musicians who are so close that there isn't an obvious "best", you are forced to nit-pick to choose the winner - which really shouldn't be what this is all about.

Aaaah, so cute those two !!! 😀🤗❤️

Did you see the moment where they both congratulated each other? And Chloe was so genuinely happy for Christian when he won the audience pirze. They're both such amazing musicians and show such good frienship even after only a few weeks of knowing eachother (through a competition no less); the power of music is strong with them. 😊

I love them! Don't want to say "I ship it" because.... yeah, but I think they're going to do great things. I hope they do a collaboration! I think it would be amazing to see what they can to together and as a group (chamber music?). I know Christian already plays chamber music (on his profile), but I think anyone would enjoy it. Love you two 💗. Keep doing what you do, keep inspiring, and keep showing others that you're the best!

I nearly died when the subtitles said 'music' when everyone was screaming 🤣

All members of the jury shook hands with the older four finalists but gave warm hugs to Chloe and Christian! When the two first prize winners stood beside the other four, they looked really much younger and more childish. I love how they two looked so pure and childish despite their high level in violin performance.

Some commented on that most of the 6 contestants were Asian. True !! There is a very strong work ethic and excellence expectations within the Asian communities which has translated into success and recognition. Nationality is not an assurance of success, hard work and dedication is !! BTW most of the judges were non Asian.

I wouldn't be harsh on Maxim. I've met him on multiple occasions and he is not a cold person. Quite on the contrary. I think when the Russian judge before Maxim decided not to hug the kids, it just broke the chain and Maxim did what was spontaneous to him at that instant by giving him a hearty high-five with a huge smile. He then hugged Chloe (maybe he didn't want to high-five an elegant lady?). The way I see it - they were getting half a hug each from the judges up to that point and the high-five from Maxim? It was 100% for Christian and for him alone. Christian will be seeing his hero again in future for sure.
