I was fortunate enough to meet him in college. He performed at Eastern Washington University and I ran the spotlight for his show. Afterward he asked all of the theater majors to meet with him and was extremely encouraging to us all. He was one of the nicest most humble person I have ever met.

He’s gone 😢 , but his voice will live forever 🌟
The greatest voice over artist that ever existed! It's insane to realize that he voiced nearly every character in the most iconic cartoons the world will ever know. The incomparable Looney Tunes. Unapproached by any other creations in history. I was shocked that he was the voice of Woody Woodpecker as well. WHY NOT!! Like the phenomenal Stan Lee of Comic Book fame, Mel Blanc stands alone in his genre. I can't think of any two men that were as far beyond their peers at anything as these twin geniuses. One created characters on the printed page. The other gave animated characters their life through his unimaginable vocal gifts. Watch any Looney Tunes cartoon. Can you imagine any other voice with these characters? Mel Blanc was not only the "Man of a Thousand Voices." He was the man of 1,000 perfectly matched voices to every character!! THE WORLD WILL NEVER SEE HIS LIKE AGAIN.

What a legend, thanks for the memories Me. Blanc.
Mel Blanc is a legend. Over many years as a television watcher I was greatly entertained by his work - and am sure hundreds of millions of people globally enjoy his work even today.
Years later, the English horse gag still cracks Jack Benny up. They had a great relationship. And Mel's career is legendary. Every voice artist owes a debt of gratitude to the Man of 1,000 Voices. And every lover of cartoons does, too.
No one did it better. So hard to pick only one, but my favorite Mel Blanc character/voice is Yosemite Sam. INCREDIBLE !!! 🤣🤣🤣 R.I.P. to the legendary Mel Blanc. 😇😇❤️❤️

To all the animators that have created the many characters that Mel lovingly voiced, I say thanks from the bottom of my heart for the joy Mel and all these talented people brought to the masses. What a talented group of humorous people which enriched our lives.
Thanks for memories Mr Blanc. You entertained many generations with all your voices. May you Rest In Peace
Mel was originally supposed to voice Yosemite Sam in Roger Rabbit. But by that point, the voice was way too hard for him. So they got, one of the actors who would later take over Mel’s characters for years in the 90s up to the 2010s, Joe Alaskey! Joe did Sam and unsurprisingly from Joe, due to him being an incredible actor, was spot on. He was so spot on, Joe fooled Mel. When Mel saw the film, he thought they kept his original recording and said to himself “Oh my Lord, they did a great job with what I’ve done”

What a wonderful, genuine original clever man. Never be another to hold a candle to him
Love love love Mel! For 70+ years. A fun actor, as well as a great voice actor. Catch some of his routines with Jack Benny, and others. He was also the 'voice' of Jack's car. When he passed away, there was a picture of all the WB characters he had voiced, standing with their heads down, before an empty microphone, and the caption read 'Speechless'. Such a moving tribute. June Foray did the WB female voices. Witch Hazel was a favorite. June was also Rocky Squirrel and Natasha for Jay Ward, among other voices. In an interview, Mel was asked what he thought of people saying that June Foray was the female Mel Blanc. He replied that he thought of himself as the male June Foray. RIP, Mel, and June, and thanx so very much, for the magic, music, and memories.
This man is my voice idol. He was out of this world, such a special person and artist.
Years ago,in the early '80s. I was at an amusement park and I was a restless teenager watching a 'Bugs & Friends' show. So I walked all the way up to the sound booth. I looked inside, it was dark inside with red lightning and and saw this 'old man' with a cigarette in his hand. When he spoke, to my delight, I instantly recognized who he was! I would alternately look at the characters and Mr. Blanc sycophantic timings. He made it look so easy. He seemed almost 'bored' by it all. A true genius at work! ..."and thats all folks!"
Wow, that really brought back a lot of memories for me. I loved the cartoons back then.
Thank you Mel Blanc you helped make my childhood wonderful,
And thus he is the guy that inspired many of our favorite voice actors like Jeff Bergman and Jim Cummings.

When I was in college (spring of 1980 maybe?) he came and spoke for a couple of hours (in his own voice and many others) at an indoor basketball court behind my dorm. It was standing room only and we were all mesmerized. Less than a decade before his passing, there had to have been more profitable uses of his time than talking to a bunch of college kids at a rural college, but there he was. What a standup guy!
Blanc had a genius for vocalisations. I have heard he did all voices except Fudd. amazing.

Noel would continue the legacy of his father vocal talent.
A few years before Mel passed away I wrote him a fan letter and I included a drawing of a couple of comic characters that I created.and I left the word balloons blank above them. I asked Mel to fill in the word balloons with whatever he thought my two characters were saying to each other. . Not only did he send me an autographed photo , he also sent me back my drawing and he DID fill in the word balloons . So, in a sense, I got Mel Blanc to speak for my characters ...Mel Blanc was a class act all the way. He didn't create any of the famous Warner Bros. cartoon characters , but he gave MANY of them their personalities. We miss you, Mel...Rest in peace !

After shooting the car commercial, Blanc checked himself into the hospital, a nurse called his son Noel and suggested sending his dad home with an inhaler or keeping him at the hospital overnight. Mel decided instead to stay overnight, which was his undoing. Staff forgot to lift up bed rails in his room, Mel fell out of bed, his femur broke and a blood clot traveled to his brain. It’s a nasty death, and this is never mentioned on his Wikipedia page.
