Most of these accidents seem to be caused by people who are making left turns and failing to yield to traffic. That’s why you should always look for yellow light runners before you make your left turn. It’s that simple.

Just wait until its fully red. The only car accident I've ever been in was this scernario, but I was the guy going straight. Back then, ICBC ruled the other guy at fault 90%, despite me admittedly running it super late and accelerating into the intersection.

Attempted to hit and run for sure. Then when he realized he couldn't get away he pulled over. That must have been an interesting conversation.

Vancouver is notorious for not having controlled left hand turn signals and narrow streets, hence the Vancouver left: go one block past the road you want to turn on and do 3 rights, or take your chances. Make sure the road you pick to go turn on has traffic lights or you're back in the mess.

BC Tel used to have this as a rule to cut down on accidents & insurance costs for their service fleet. "2 rights don't make a left, but 3 do" was the slogan --or something like that.

Looking at the car accidents in Canada, I have a feeling the majority happen in BC. Crossed all Canada and from week 1 I had few close calls and aggressive drivers attitude even they are wrong. Talking in one forum with people I found many don't know the rules. I mean, they didn't read the book carefully and don't know lot of details.

To everyone who stops to lend assistance when there is a major accident (e.g. when a car flips over), then good on ya!!!!...to everyone else who drives away...W.T.F. is wrong with you!?...is your life/time so damn important that you can stop even for a few seconds just to make sure that the driver(s) does not need medical assistance?!

So, many of these were unsafe left turns. Impatience? I stopped counting after the first 4 of 6. Yet, so many were caused by distracted driving. Get off your phones!!! The video by Oliver (@1:19) was caused by distracted driving while on a cell phone... I'm sure of it. The guy ran a red light because he saw movement with the car beside him (who legally turned right on a red). Whenever I'm at an intersection and I see someone on their phone, I simply sit and stare at them. I don't allow them to use my movement. I'll sit at a green light to see if they will ever notice. I almost went through a whole circulation once... except a car behind honked. Too many of these crashes were caused by distracted driving... It just takes a moment.

Honestly these videos take sooo long to compile and edit it would take even longer because most people don't send the location.

I feel so bad for the gray car at 5:41 the person was trying to avoid getting hit by the black suv who was swerving which resulted in the gray car losing control and crashing

2:48, Whoever knows the phone number for the Loomis Express company, called them and then complain to that driver for not shoulder checking when a lane is clear, not paying attention on the road on the left, and caused an accident with the car! That guy who is driving the Loomis Express vehicle needs to be fired and losing licence at once!

The cammer driving at 5:19 to 5:20 seemed to be going way too fast. Which caught the oncoming left turner by surprise. Making a left turn against 2 oncoming lanes is risky business. So is driving past a line of stalled or slow cars at a much higher speed.

I was hit by a left turner too. Some of these people need to seriously learn how to drive prooerly as they dont understand how to yield or how to look ahead

the problem with BC is that its no fault insurance, and you don't get in trouble for causing a crash. Maybe your insurance goes up a bit...You don't owe any damages and you can't get sued, so I feel like no one cares as much since they switched over (ICBC is a cheapskate). Vancouver drivers are also too nice. They don't honk to warn people. Ive heard more honking in my town of 12,000 than I've heard in Vancouver. (many of these could've been avoided if they honked before someone decided to sneak through and go for that left turn seeing as many people knew they were gonna get hit) and secondly, they just give their right of way up which is also a contributing factor to the crashes. Own your spot on the road and defend it. Driving isn't about being nice, it's about doing things properly. If you can let someone merge in, that's wonderful and very much appreciated, just don't coddle the idiots.

Alot of red lite runners that cause these accidents that's one thing. It's like a epidemic big hurry getting nowhere other than getting into another smash up. No consideration for the other drivers safety!

So many bad dumb drivers. I think we should stop leaving gaps to let cars turn left cuz obviously it can’t be done safely and us drivers are kind of encouraging those making the left turns to go through because we left the gap. Leave no gap, no need for them to blindly turn left and possibly get into an accident

I think the "red light runner" was distracted and on his cell phone at his red light. Then, he saw the movement of the car beside him doing a legal right turn on a red. Seeing movement he assumed a green. Assumptions cause accidents.

That crash at 3:35 - "You gonna go? You gonna go?" Wrong attitude. I don't know why Vancouver drivers give up their right of way. It creates very dangerous situations, like that one. Just go and let the person make a left turn when it's safe. If I were that car I would not have went - but I can see how they might have felt pressure to go because of this idiotic habit of people giving up their right of way to be "nice".
