Meet our 3 Egg-laying Hens, Camilla, Nugget & Jessabelle - Bidaller Farms

Welcome to Bidaller Farms where excitement is fluttering in the air as we introduce three charming new members to our family: Camilla, Nugget, and Jessabelle! Named with love and a touch of humor-Camilla after the delightful Muppet, Nugget inspired by our son's playful imagination (and who doesn't think of chicken nuggets when they hear "chicken"?), and Jessabelle, a name as beautiful as the hen herself, chosen by Jem.
These lovely ladies are our farm's very first egg-laying hens. For those who might not know, hens are female chickens, distinct from their male counterparts, roosters, whom we're not planning to introduce just yet-maybe someday in the future!
In this video, we're thrilled to show you their new home-a meticulously crafted barn enclosure shared with a goat pen. We've poured our hearts into creating a perfect habitat complete with nesting boxes, perch bars, fresh hay, and a nutritious mix of grains and minerals. This setup isn't just cozy; it's designed to support our chickens in egg production and our soon-to-arrive goats in their brush-clearing tasks.
Stay tuned as we expect to welcome our goats in the coming days. We're eager to share every step of this journey, giving you a glimpse into the daily joys and challenges of farm life. Join us as we grow our farm family and learn together. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to keep up with all the updates from Bidaller Farms!

Another fantastic video. A few years ago I had 32 hens that were all free range. At one point I was getting well over 600 eggs a month. The taste and quality of the eggs is incredible. If Gem happens to bake something that is usually light in color it will be a little darker because the yoke in your eggs will be darker than store bought. Really enjoying watching you folks learn and expand. Cheers

When i was a kid, we lived on a farm with lots of chickens. We had to chop the heads off & pluck them ourselves. Not like now when we have to buy everything from grocery stores. I miss those days. The goat & horses were cool.

Chickens are cool. We worked in poultry layer farms when I was a kid. 600’ house full of chickens and roosters just getting it on all day. It’s crazy to see food with a personality. 😂
