I appreciate that this guy has weaknesses, and makes efforts overcome them.

Most of the checklist is actually pretty solid, but there are a couple, let's call them snags, that make it seem really wierd.

I guarantee that if the brothers were making a list of what to do before a date they would have a solid 10 minute heated argument on when to take a dump. Don't sweat it Big Sandwich Guy, wherever you are.

Like, sure it's a little weird that this is like, a list, that's written down somewhere, but he seems like a really considerate guy who would probably make for a good date

The sandwich thing is way less concerning to me than the "bottle up emotions", "don't stare at boobs", and "don't precieve other women" points. Like find healthier ways to express yourself and treat women like humans.

I'm in a weird place where this doesn't sound creepy & it sounds more like this is an incredibly anxious dude, but I'm autistic so making lists for everything sounds fine & I tend to miss or forgive red flags too often, so I'm like ???? I CAN'T TELL

Having a checklist of preparations items before a date is NOT a bad thing. It's just a means of organizing stuff in your mind. Travis almost gets it right at 3:42. Putting it on "checklist" doesn't make it creepy, just unusual. And unusual is not an inherently bad thing.

@@theWeaverofTales Noooo, no. You misunderstand. It's social anxiety, not a creep thing. I can see how it seems that way and it's probably hard to understand if you've not experienced it. The angry at home thing just means that, rather than get angry in the moment they want to wait until they are alone and can think about it, process it, and realise that they don't need to be that mad and realise it was probably an accident or not personal or whatever, rather than making it a big deal in the moment and ruining things about some petty thing they don't actually care about or misunderstood or whatever. The other two are also just a part of social anxiety for dudes, specifically younger dudes like teens or young adults, or just people with less social experience / more nervousness/anxiety about it. For people with anxiety they don't want to look someone in the face or eyes, so they'll drop their gaze and look somewhere else, usually the top of the torso. Now, that's fine for men, but for women it might look like you're staring at their chest. You obviously can't look lower bcs then you're not even vaguely looking near their face at that point and you venture into more bad territory like crotch etc, so it's more they don't really know where to look, and they are reminding themselves to check where they're looking and ensure it's not making them uncomfortable. This kinda does away as you get older, but especially for teens or younger dudes, there is this strong like... FEAR that you'll be caught looking at their chest and someone will think you're staring at their boobs and get the wrong idea and think you're a PERVERT and your soul will immediately leave your body as you are too embarrassed / humiliated to hold on to it any longer.

Server was a woman, so I skyhooked out just to be safe then destroyed my house in a fit of rage. Fortunately I had backup cash that I was able to drop on the way out to pay for the meal.

I just remembered when I picked up my ex long distance bf from the airport and we were gonna go to dinner, we went to Red Robin first, which was closed because of a power outage, and then to Texas Roadhouse, where they had a limited menu because there was a KITCHEN FIRE. So it happens

Nothing about this is that creepy, it just sounds like the dude overthinks things and wants to have contingencies for anything that could go wrong. I guess they were just trying to make it funny for the show but other than eating a sandwich before dates nothing here is really that weird.
