Probably due to mutual respect. However, the geniuses of our generation all seem to be very condescending to those they believe are beneath them or those that who ask questions that the geniuses deem juvenile and/or simplistic.

Amazing at how profound, and how blatantly obvious the enormous impact of having an actual artist (Lars) interviewing another artist (Maynard), and the difference it makes towards the overall success of content, compared to the typical radio dj, podcast host, or average fan that's usually conducting the interview. Maynard's whole demeanor, and his responses are completely different. It's like he's more comfortable responding to someone he most certainly considers a contemporary in the industry. Great job Lars. 10:30 I love Maynard’s point about how important it is for bands and artists to continue to challenge themselves and not try to continue to make the same thing over and over again. It’s how artists and music itself evolves and more fans of these artists need to realize this.

8:22 Maynard is probably the only vocalist I've heard mention he let's the music tell him what to do. It makes so much sense why everything he does couldn't be done by anyone else. When I did songwriting I struggled so hard to make songs work. Because I would force a topic or emotion on a song that was telling me to do something else. I love it.
