Mayim Bialik - The Right Way To Be Vegan? - Only Appearance

Комедия

She doesn't preach and insist everyone else should be vegans, I think it's the right approach to any personal philosophy one holds. Don't insist others should hold the same and judge them if they don't, instead, be welcoming to those who would be willing to hold the same philosophy without judging those who wouldn't. Sry for going all Chuck Norris on this, felt like the right time & place for it. Enjoy!

Mayim represents very well indeed, for vegans. She seems to be an interesting person generally. I've heard Craig say, in later statements, that he himself was vegan (for health reasons), don't know that Mayim had anything to do with that, though. (Another time I heard him joke that he's a vegetarian who's lactose intolerant ... :)

@@Azoriuss The same way the majority of meat eaters get offended and go immediately into defensive mode when I say I'm vegetarian in order to respecfully decline certain types of food I have been offered. I had one guy getting upset saying it didn't agree with my decision, as if my choice was getting into his freedom of choice. Considering my 7 years of experience as a vegetarian, I can safely say that meat eaters are definitely the tantrum-based-snow-flakes when handling this subject, which is ironic.

I'm a vegan who actively advocates for veganism on social media, but not in my personal life. I don't think of meat eaters as evil; they are just uninformed. I was ignorant of the relevant facts for about 60 years. Now I try to pass along those facts, and correct misconceptions. Like Mayim, in my personal life, I am glad to answer questions about it.

It is possible for almost everyone. The largest organization of nutrition professionals officially declared- "It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage. *Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity.* Low intake of saturated fat and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, soy products, nuts, and seeds (all rich in fiber and phytochemicals) are characteristics of vegetarian and vegan diets that produce lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and better serum glucose control. These factors contribute to reduction of chronic disease. Vegans need reliable sources of vitamin B-12, such as fortified foods or supplements." -Full abstract from the position paper as found on PubMed from the National Institutes of Health

Why go vegan? 1-Your own health (vegans are less likely to get the most common chronic, deadly diseases) 2-Helping to end animal agriculture would reduce the chance of another pandemic & other zoonotic diseases 3-Helping to end animal ag would reduce the chance of the development of an antibiotic resistant pathogen. 4-Animal ag wastes a huge amount of fresh water. Each vegan saves 219,000 gallons of water every year! 5-Animal ag is a major cause of water pollution 6-Animal ag is a major cause of deforestation 7-Animal ag increases PTSD and spousal abuse in the people who work in slaughterhouses. Workers in meat packing facilities often endure terrible, dangerous working conditions. 8-Animal ag is a major cause of the loss of habitat and biodiversity 9-Needless killing of innocent, sentient beings cannot be ethically justified. 10- It is the single most effective way for each of us to fight climate change and environmental degradation. 11- Longer lifespan. 12- Healthier weight (vegans were the only dietary group in the Adventist Studies that had an average BMI in the recommended range.) 13- A healthy plant based diet significantly reduces the chances of ED later in life, and even 1 meal can improve bedroom performance 14- Vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of dementia later in life 15- A plant based diet could save money! You could reduce your food budget by one third! 16-A fully plant based diet improves the immune system according to a study published in the journal BMJ Nutrition Prevention & Health 17-A fully plant based food system would greatly reduce food borne illnesses like salmonella 18-A fully plant based food system would be able to feed millions more people. Our population is growing! 19-A fully plant based food system would save 13,000 lives a year from the air pollution caused by animal agriculture, according to a study 20- A vegan world would save 8 million human lives a year, and $1 trillion in health care and related costs (Oxford Study) Links for some of these are at my channel under "About." If you doubt any of them, I would be glad to cite evidence from credible sources to back them up. KZread only allows a certain number of links at my channel. After I made my list, I found this video with his own list which overlaps mine. He cites evidence from credible sources in the description. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p5dqr8ymo5TYmLA.html

I could be reading into it but I thought even Mayim might've been a little uncomfortable with the sexual comments made. I'm not hating on him as a person just more the pressure that the entertainment business puts on certain people to act or say things I personally don't believe they would say in normal social interactions.

Craig might have been curious after this show, and looked into it himself. Why did he go vegan? Veganism is an important issue. It wouldn't solve climate change, but it is the most effective way each of us can minimize our environmental footprint. A fully plant based diet wouldn't end zoonotic diseases, pandemics, and epidemics, but it would make them much less likely. It wouldn't end the threat of new antibiotic resistant pathogens, but due to standard practices in animal agriculture, it would reduce it. It wouldn't solve the fresh water crisis, but it would help. Each vegan saves 219,000 gallons a year. A switch to a fully plant based food system would feed millions more people and save 75% of the land now used for producing food. That freed up land would let us plant a lot of trees to absorb CO2. A vegan world would save 8 million human lives a year, and $1.5 trillion in health care costs (Oxford Study) Add all these together, and if true, most people would agree that it is an important issue. Let me know which of these you want evidence from credible sources for first.

You don't realize that you were indoctrinated into Carnism, because it is the default. Your well meaning parents (and mine) told you that you needed to eat animal products to "grow up big and strong." Turns out they were wrong. The largest organization of nutrition professionals officially declared- "It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. She’s hardly helpless, she’s highly intelligent and since she mentioned many of her cast mates had appeared so she must have known what his show was like and if you look at the most common guests Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Rashida Jones, none were weak women who would tolerate any crap or creepy behaviour from anyone and they became genuinely friends with him. There’s no doubt that he flirted and there’s plenty of double entendres in the show but he never crossed the line to become harassing or abusive towards anyone. The odd interview where a non native English speaker didn’t understand him, when a guest didn’t know his style or Kristen Stewart were awkward but you don’t have to watch them. People are allowed to flirt and it’s not harassment, when Ellen Degeneres has an attractive man on she often shows topless photos of them and they don’t complain, Piers Morgan does but that’s a sign to continue.
