    Hey Papa, That tube of grease is to put on the rubber shield edge rubbing on the backing plate not the gears. I also bought the older pro polisher you sent back. The polisher is okay, I just ease up on the pressure to keep it spinning. If I want more cut I use a 3401 copy I bought or the cordless Flex since they are both forced rotation and will not stall. I may try to trade mine as well or sell mine & buy the series 2 like you have. Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us. You rock! Vince.

    I had the Maxshine Master M15 - it was the first 15mm throw polisher they had available in the USA. It was a pretty solid performer but I got a Flex 3401 forced rotation/gear driven polisher and then I almost never used the Maxshine after that (had 5 polishers at the time, so the Flex just replaced the Maxshine for the particular use case). It is just a preference thing, I like the versatility of the forced rotation in that I can polish at any angle or on any surface and don't have to ever worry about it stalling out. The fixed gear also allows you to polish many areas of the vehicle that a free spinning machine cannot while using the same size pad. I could go on for days about the pros and cons of forced vs free so if you care to know more I have a video about it. Anyway... if you haven't tried a fixed gear/forced rotation DA polisher I highly recommend that you give it a shot! There are Flex 3401 knock-offs on ebay for around $100 if you want to try it out before going all in. Cheers!

  • @PapaSmurf918Detail

    @PapaSmurf918Detail

    4 жыл бұрын

    BPS, Thanks for that information! I've heard great things about the forced rotation 3401!!! And I'm almost looking into either that or a rotory for that reason. Being able to work at certain angles and not stall the pad. A lot of these newer cars arw just full of concaves and body lines and what not. Will definitely come in handy! However, the series II did a fantastic job back to back corrections for me. So I'll have to make some money with this thing and save up for my next upgrade 🤜🤛✊

It has a slight edge over the G9 in being " quieter " I think either one would be much much better in terms of vibration and sound level. . It's to early to say I'd choose this over my G9 just yet. But I can assure you either this OR the G9 from griots will be a significant upgrade from your porter cable. Just gotta think will you need a ling throw 15mm or 9mm short throw.?? Will you be doing more of enhancements or 2 step corrections. The 15mm would be a better choice if your doing paint corrections more so over light polishing or enhancements👍👍 hope that helps!!!! Any updates on this? How has it been so far? Stalling issues at all? Considering buying one. Been mostly a rotary guy myself but find that I'm missing a sweet spot with it. If the paint isn't swirled much I usually jewel with my rotary and it's been awesome. I can't get the same clarity with a DA and hollogramming is virtually not an issue. If there's light swirling I usually need to use slightly more aggressive pads/product but also need to be much more diligent on removing oils/fillers to ensure I have no holograms. Looking for a DA to remove light swirling and avoid holograms all together, my porter cable is just too weak and time consuming to do much in terms of paint correction.

I think you need the heat to break down the abrasive. SF4500 with a black LC pad is my go to and for me a must of silver and lighter cars. I will always use one for jeweling, the chances of holograms with a finishing pad and a jeweling polish is very slim. The issue comes with more aggressive pads/products but corrected with subsequent finer pads/polishes. The DA is for that sweet spot where scratches are still fixable with a DA but won't take too long.

I'll be doing a video on it.. maxshine is unfortunately having some quality control issues so it's hit or miss. My m15proII is still doing very well. 10+ full jobs on it and it's still plowing through each one I throw at it👍. Go with the Shinemate my friend.

    I can't say this is better than that, however this here Series II polisher from maxshine is a fantastic unit! I did 2 full corrections on it with my microfiber cutting pads and it was outstanding.. there is much speculation about it stalling.. I did find when I switched to the Perfecting pad from griots it did have slight stalling.. where I believe the G9 wouldn't.. but that's pad dependent.. my microfiber cutting pads are where the work is done. Speed 4.5 was all I needed. The G9 however is MUCH more comfortable to hold and packs serious torque!! Also, the smaller throw on the G9 just requires a little more passes to reach the defect removal your looking for. They are both great. I have more time with my G9 tha my new series II. I still feel I need a few more cars under the Series II to do a " performance thoughts " video. Hope this helps. 👍

    @ronniepearson7192 Lots of them have plastic parts somewhere inside. But, I wouldn't worry about it. I've had my maxshine units a few years. Granted to don't use them daily my m15pro is a workhorse. I have the m21 pro and the Pro G green model lol. All 3 work well. Rupes, idk.. I have people I know that have had multiple issues with there's so I just can not justify the price. Especially with the Shinemate not Maxshine. Shinemate ex620 model. Plenty of power, smooth... and comfortable... if you already have the Maxshine, swap that grease an let er eat!👍👍👍👍

    I've never used a rupes so it's hard to day man. I know people that have had Rupes and they say it's great but of still stalls.. I mean it is hard to choose. Hear the Rupes is smooth and nice. Bit is it worth the pricetag? If your doing multiple vehicles a day in a business maybe I'd say go for Rupes. My Maxshine unit has served me well thus far being a weekend warrior👍
