    Awesome video! I to started with all meguiars, meguiars G110 V2. Great polisher! Was going to get the maxshine 21 mm pro, but heard it will stall like no other. I put a thicker washer on my G9..no stalling at all now. This is just the kind of comparison I wanted on these kinds of polishers. I now know the G9 was the right move.🙂

    I have a 2007 Subaru STI that had a clear bra on it for the first 13 years. When I removed it earlier this summer, I had a line across the hood where the clear bra was as well as a ton of swirl marks. I had always detailed the car but never polished it. I purchased the G9 and put a 5" backing plate on it and got a bottle of their correcting cream. It was the first time I ever polished a car and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would suggest trying a 5" backing plate instead of the 6" that came with the polisher. It was easy to control and did a really nice job. I would say most of the swirl marks are now gone from the car. After it I polished it and did an alcohol wipe down, I put on two coats of ceramic sealant spray. The car looks fantastic. Definitely give the smaller backing plate a try. It may be an optical illusion but the backing plates on the other two polishers looked smaller than the 6" plate you had on the G9.

Do you know what type of paint those cars are known to have? (Soft, hard) I’m a bit nervous and want to take as little clear coat off as possible. I just ordered the G9 last week and am considering Griots boss correcting and perfecting cream but honestly have no idea. There are so many compounds out there. Another question I have is… 5” or 6”? Is it worth the money for a 5”? Lol sorry, i’m such a noob

    I just picked up the G9. Made the mistake of going with a Bauer yesterday. It was like a machine gun and took it back real fast. Thre Bauer was trying to hop off my Lincoln and also had an allen wrench sticking out the side. Took that Allen wrench right off. Who would think to put something like that there? 99% of the guys who would use that have a ton of allan's. Im sure I'll be happier with the GG9

    Yes, I have the Gg6 and if i am not mistaken the new g9 stalls like all new ones in order protect paint from being pressed, overheated and removing more of the clear coat by not being kind of consistent. I have now Flex for the last 3 years which is great and I started with one from Harbor Freight. One of the things I will recommend you is to remove the grease it comes with and use a better one which can be purchased at Walmart, Autozone, Advanced Auto. SPTA released a new battery one which I saw by Miranda Detailing where he did a comparison as a starter one and he is also making recommendations to the company. Cute daughter! Hope your husband makes a video of his experiences and expertise too or features with the lady of the beautiful and clear voice. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

    Long throw polishers have more of a tendency to stall when it comes to uneven pressure and curved body panels. This occurs regardless of how much power the machine has, assuming the bearings aren’t defective and the backing plate isn’t making contact with the polisher head (hence washer mod on rupes machines). Keep in mind even if the pad seems like it’s stalling in these situations, the throw of the polisher is still there and correcting. Not ideal but it’s still working. Additionally long throw polishers need less pressure. Not talking just the weight of the machine but definitely don’t need to put nearly as much pressure as with the GG6. This is why thinner pads are ideal with these types of machines. With curved panels the only solution is to go down to a smaller pad that accommodates the panel better or even a dedicated small machine like the Griots G8 mini. If not, just use the GG6 with a thicker pad on these surfaces.

    You make some great points about the Maxshine. I’ve found through trial and error how to make mine work w/ less pressure. I haven’t had any stalling issues. I’ve got to make do because I can’t afford multiple polishers.

  • @BigBear--
    @BigBear-- Жыл бұрын

    I'd definitely recommend switching to a 5" backing pad for the G9, it's easier to work with, and it focuses the power of the machine in a smaller area which should help with some of the stalling you might be experiencing. To be honest though, a lot of beginners have a problem with stalling DA machines. Until they work out the proper muscle memory for how much pressure to apply so as to not stall DA polishers in areas like body line transitions, and curved/edgy panels. Not saying that's you problem personally, but DA's do require a specific technique to maximize their performance, run smoothly, and not stall the pads. Just another factor to consider.

    @Attention 2 Details w/Chelsea The reason you are thinking the M15 is stalling is because the throw is 15mm(The other polishers have a much shorter throw. In turn they do not have this effect). So it throws the backing plate 15mm out and makes the polisher look as though its not to its full speed/stalling. In reality this is an amazing beginner and professional polisher. This polisher is loved by Wilson Auto Detailing, Pan TheOrganizer, Apex Detail, Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detail etc the list just keeps going.
