Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Today, we put Griot's Garage NEW G9 Random Orbital Polisher through the Apex Detail Review Process! The G9 has the precise attention to detail... the nuance that makes great tools great. It's light, comfortable, smooth running, super quiet, and most of all, powerful and highly effective. how much better is this machine than the porter cable? is it worth upgrading right away or should I just wait till my PC goes out?

Apex Detail Hi Brian. Once again 👍👍👍👍 . Yes it’s a quality DA what’s the price point. Over$300 probably . What’s the throw. I wish they would make a copy of there DA buffer that’s 159$ and make it 15 mm throw. And keep the price about the same or at least under 200$ . Detailing products are getting out of control and their prices. Do companies have to make a 500% Percent profit wouldn’t 100% be enough. Just sick and tired of having to Pay a fortune for everything. The price of everything goes up except our paychecks which is garbage. Although it does look like a great buffer and I do like it. Keep the great videos coming brain. Give the dog a hug 🤗
Brian you did a better job explaining the polisher than Griots themselves :) Received mine Saturday and got up early today and did a quick polish on wife's car and it was fabulous . Finally after going through polishers this is on my shelf along with my Adams min. Others have gone to good people and auction site. This senior driveway detailer recommends this :)
Another fast upload thanks Brian. Have been waiting for sometime to do a thorough review of this polisher.
I was waiting for your review... ordered!
Outstanding review. Brian I for one really appreciate the time you take to do this, it helps me a lot and I would just like to thank you. Keep up the good work. You have the best detailing channel on the tube.
Thank you Brian, Will be ordering this polisher soon , your reviewer helped me make my decision !
Cool! Thanks for showing us the polisher. I think I'll get one soon based on your review.
Thanks for the review Brian. Looking forward to receiving mine. I jumped on the buy back offer that Griots Garage mentioned during the live stream introduction of the G9 last week.
The best reviews on KZread! This looks good!
Awesome..... Nice to see Quality and Value in the same Tool !!! ThankYou Brian... and no need to change the Grease right off the bat!! :-)
Thank you sooo much Brian. Really looked forward to this review.
I will be purchasing it based on your review. You explain things so clearly, your words don't have allot of fluff. Thank you for your honesty and professionalism.
Thank you Brian for another great review. Coming from you I respect the review much more than i would from a guy wearing a Griot’s T-shirt. Your reviews are unbiased and appreciated. 👍👍
This video is right on time in helping me choose my first electric polisher.
I was anxious to see a nice review of this machine. I appreciate a lot your content, keep it on. Thanks
Thank you! Probably one of the best in depth and thorough product reviews I have seen. As a beginner, I feel good about this purchase after watching your review. Not to mention, it’s my understanding that Griot’s Garage has on the best warranties and customer service in the industry in the unlikely event something should go wrong. Liked and Subscribed.
I had my eye on the G9 but wasn't sure about internals and the quality, your excellent review convinced me to purchase one and its on its way. Thank you so much for your work and effort.
Thank you for this video. I was so excited when I seen your post
Outstanding review Brian. It looks like Griot's has hit a home run with this machine - especially at this price point. I have the G-6, and I'm still learning how to use it. But it's nice to see an upgrade is available for the future. Thank you!
I have a Griots 6 and a maxshine buffer in my arsenal, but I plan to get the new G9, looks like a great machine, the detachable cord is genius and I love the balancing of the machine when you turn it over.
Hey Brian, saw this G9 in the catalog Griot's sends me and read up on it and, yeah...had to order it. Getting mine soon. I think this polisher is a heck of one for the cost of it. Keep up the great vids!
Thank you Brian. Your endorsement confirms my decision. Will be pulling the trigger on this one. I've been dragging my feet to replace the HF Bauer I returned. Now I'm glad I did. Happy polishing everyone!!!
Outstanding analysis. You made me buy one.
What a great video, thank you!
Thanks for the great review and breakdown of the machine. Been thinking about getting one.
And it is guaranteed for life, well that is quite the product. Thank you professor especially for the breakdown, wow what a lesson. :-)
Buddy!! Well done, awesome tear down for a tool!! Porter cable is out!!
another great comparison and product review good friend. nice upgrade 2 last polisher.
I can’t wait to get mine! It looks like a great machine and your video proves that.

Thanks for the review looks to be a great option.
Nice design, affordable, well made. Cant ask for more at this price. Thanks!
I would be incredibly surprised if the Griots guys weren't aware of the channel. I'm sure there were some fist bumps and high fives going on as they watched this review. We all know there are few active sources for reviews and opinions that aren't paid for in one way or another. They have to earn this one.. 👍👌✌ They really checked alot of boxes on this. Plus it just looks high quality and modern. A completely purpose built design versus just an oval shell of plastic to cover the internals like the G6. Also love the quick disconnect, I can think of many scenarios where that would be useful.
Glad to hear about the grease, I have the new G8 and G9.
Thanks for the fantastic review. As a beginner, I think I found my polisher 🙌
Fantastic video man! Ordered mine the day it came out Haha. Looks very well made. Thank you for the in depth look.
Great review, I appreciate your work.
Thanks for the review!
Fantastic video! It's amazing how fast you are pumping out reviews of these newly released products yet remaining so thorough. I really appreciate the time, effort, and money you spend and sacrifice to make these videos. You are truly one of a kind. You also never hesitate to allow others and me to pick your brain and ask a few questions. It never goes unnoticed or unappreciated, even though it's not always pointed out.

Brian. It’s almost as if u were on the build Team ,, great in-depth review
Great review definitely on my list.
All the latest stuff wow!
I’ll have to keep this on my list of polishers, when I’m in the market for one. Hopefully no time soon of course, as long as my current lasts.
Great video. Thanks
Just ordered mine through your link. Gonna relegate my PC 7424xp to 3 inch duty with my Milwaukee M12 polisher for headlights, etc. The Porter never felt comfortable to me, the G9 looks fantastic for ergonomics. Having twice the available power is great. Lifetime warranty? What's not to like with this unit. You sincerely have the best detailing channel on the planet, no need for me to waste time visiting the pretenders anymore...
Been watching your channel alot in the evening and picking up some awesome gems brother! After your evaluations on the griots g9 &g8. Decided to pull the trigger on their combo. Got a killer deal on their site $275 shipped! It should be a huge step up over the bauer. I mean I'm no pro in the scene. But I do get amazing results with what I do have. I usually just wet sand and da finish after body & paint. Hopefully I'll see a HUGE improvement in my detail/correction game which will make me justify buying a better gun. ( I'm using a pro-lite) Been doing paint & body for about 15 yrs but only have about 2 yrs in detailing. I honestly think paint correction I enjoy more than detailing.
This was a much better review than the one Griot's Garage did.

I was debating between an Torq 10FX and the G9. Thank you for the detailed breakdown. I’m going with the G9.
Waiting for your review of this
I used to be a Rupes lover / fan , whatever you want to called , I tried maxshine didn’t like it at all , I was reviewing this polisher , and also the G8 and May sound like a joke , but I sold my duetto, mini and mark ii , and kept the G8 and G9 (personally switch to the 5 inch backing plate ) .... amazing quality , performance , extremely cheap comparing with the competition , I can’t wait for the new G15 to be available ... those 3 will be my new arsenal ... I hope you manage to review the new G15 i love your detailed reviews ... keep up the amazing content !!!
Thanks for this video. I broke my old GG polisher this morning and was looking at some of the ~$150 range polishers. I think is an excellent option and I can use the 5" plate/pads that were intended for the one I broke.
I had one for less than 60 days worked on about five cars and now it doesn't maintain power only when I turn it upside down it works I don't know what's wrong with it but when it works it is one of the best I love using it, it has the best fill in your hands it's down now but still great product. Have to get it fixed👍
Nice looking machine 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video,I love your videos!!!I dont know anybody on youtube that works 7 days a week like you.

I eat, sleep, live this stuff!💗
I can't believe they priced this at $149.99. They charge the same for their latest 3rd gen 6 inch polisher which is not even close to the level of this G9. If only they made a forced rotation version with the same level of value - I would jump on it. I am one of the weirdo's that likes forced rotation DA polishers, I use my Flex 3401 more than anything else - would like to try the Rupes Mille because I have heard it is smoother but the Flex is so similar and does a great job so I can't justify spending the $400+ for the Mille. Thank you for another great polisher review!!!
They did this one almost BOSS line, love the price.
Nice review as always. The price for this is what I paid for my Porter Cable several years ago. Will have to see if my backing plates from the porter cable fits this. Question; Would a 3 inch backing plate work ok on this? Thanks Brian for all your help and sharing your knowledge with us all.
I'm in search of a new polisher and I would honestly appreciate your honest opinion n review on this g9
Thanks for including the weight
Griots killed it with this polisher but I already own the GG6 and GG15 and have no need for another polisher.
Great video. I have been waiting for this. I really don’t like the shorter handle of the 7424 or others in the class. This is more what I like as s hobby/enthusiast.
Hi. Brian, as always thanks for your hard work and time spent! I'm going to be graduating from the Chicago electric, to a new polisher for next season. I was considering the maxshine 15mms or even a rotary. But after seeing the G9 I'm thinking this could be a solid option and safe too with the shorter throw. Any opinions for a guy who's interested in getting into 1 steps and some light correcting? Thanks man appreciate it!
For a new product, the Price is Right!
Oh boy, there goes $150. Thanks, Brian!
Just bought mine. Apparently places like Autozone are carrying them. Very happy with the feel and stability.
Great Video on the G9 mine came in today..

How you been liking it? Im debating between the g9 and the maxshine 15mm. Im a beginner and would use just for normal home use a few times a year. Mainly waxing and very minor car wash brush scratches

@@brandonalbright125 I'm liking the G9 big upgrade from my portal cable. It has a little vibration but nothing a man can't handle. I think it works great and the price is also. Guys are crying about the vibrations but I work with heavy tools all day so this G9 is nothing. It's all up to you but I think you enjoy the G9 with Griot's Garage Boss system their products are easy to use .
FYI When I looked to buy a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice Interior Cleaner/Protectant I could not find it anywhere but one auto store. I was told by the counter person that it was being discontinued. I bought one bottle and it worked very well on my truck interior even took off some mild stains.
Glad I found this review Brian, thank you. This unit is on my shortlist of possibilities 👍🏽
Thank you so much for this video متشکرم
I will definitely take your word for it!
Big help Thanks for sharing this informative video. The random orbital is the same of dual action polisher?
Hi Brian, I was wondering if the trigger only operates off/on, or can you adjust the speed with it? Or is the speed only regulated by the thumbwheel?
I like it I like it allot
For a beginner/weekend warrior like myself just for our 2 newer cars normal maintenance, would you recommend the G9 or the Maxshine 15mm? Thank you
Do pads with a hole in the center actually help them last?! Great video, thanks!
I’m having a terrible time deciding between this or maybe the g21 or one of the Tory offerings like the 22d or 10fx. I would only be using this for our personal vehicles and our boat for the most part and not sure if the g21 would be overkill. What would you suggest? Also, thanks for the video and the advice!
I just bought this and the G8 as well. I am just a do my own cars guy. Mainly to keep My Black C4 looking great. be nice to see a review on the G8, I can assume build quality is on par with this one. also could have mentioned Griot's lifetime warranty and good reputation from their customer service. that counts to me. thanks for the great vids. makes me happy I decided on this machine.

As a do it yourself guy I feel the G9 and now after some time with the G8 as well I love them both. I did have an issue with the 9 but Griot's promptly replaced. I realize thinks happen. The difference is the great customer service you get with Griot's both machines meet all my expectations. I run the 5.5 on the G9. Plenty of power.

@@albertomendoza2251 absolutely recommend. My reply below
This is ridiculous!!! SUCH a thorough review! I learned lots of geeky things here. >>>> Serious ? Brian- * Vibration of this unit?? I'm 60 now, & have had both Rotator-Cuffs operated on. * I've got their "Regular" 6" Buffer. It's kinda heavy, & fairly "Buzzy" in use. * Gets a little harder on these aging shoulders after a while! * So- Your opinion on this units "Smoothness" please! Thanks Brian!!!
I have bought two G9's so far and both of them vibrated a lot to the point of being very uncomfortable. I returned the first and am contemplating about the second one. It has the default 6" backing pad and am wondering if the counter balance weight can be adjusted to offset the vibration.....
I'd love to hear your thoughts on cordless DA polishers. I am surprised at how expensive some of them are, but if you know of a reasonably (obviously subjective) priced one, I'd love to get your opinion. Thanks for the great videos!
Thought it was going to cost more then the 150.00. Looks like a good value, I thought it was going to go into orbit on setting 6 plenty of power in reserve.
What are some pads that you might use with this machine for car wash swirls removal, and polishing, on Toyota soft clear coat?
Would love to see a review and comparison of the cordless polishers. Milwaukee vs Flex vs RBL
How is the performance on edges? The 6 disk would completely stop spinning.. with all the new curves in body line now it’s important to be able to work across them
7:56 What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the *lamentations of their electric motors* . Sorry, couldn’t resist making Conan reference at that slip. Genuine question: how hot does the counterbalance area get after using it? The Flex polisher at my workplace really heats up after a few minutes of use.

LMAO...my mouth gets out in front of my thoughts occasionally. my bad.🙂
Brian would you recommend it over the G15 long-throw ($239) orbital for the professional and then for the DIY the G9 ($159)?
It's a very nice polisher. The GG6 still beats it with the heavy duty 3" back plate/pad upgraded option.

Great Video, How much quieter is this than the much older PC 7424?
Hey brian I was thinking of the g15 paired with kotch fine cut and micro cut with kotch pads or should I go for g9 and get 5 inch backing plate first polisher car is nissan thank for any info
Brian, I know you have a lot of polishers....what polisher do you guys reach for most often? Is there one that just feels like 'home'....your favorite that feels great to you?
When removing and replacing the factory grease in other polishers with cheap grease, how do you get it all out? I heard you mention citrol to help break it down; is there anything particular you do to help extract it? Also, when adding the new grease, what's a good amount to use; how do I know how much to add without overfilling or underfilling it?
@apexdetail85

Wipe as mush of it out with junk towels...then follow up with Citrol.
Thank you for the detailed video. What’s the performance difference between the new and old Griots polisher . Is the new more effective

I just got a G9 a few days ago, and after using it for about two minutes on speed 4, it is HOT. I can still hold it, but not comfortably at all. I actually can't even touch the vented spots but the speed controller, is this normal?
Hi I'm trying to decide whether to purchase the G9 or the G15. Is there a major difference when correcting? Thx
Just bought one of these. I was using a rupez pad and after about a half hour it started to slip off and wasn't gripping. Try another manufacturers pad and the same thing. Your thoughts?
To which European Brand(s) and/or Models would you compare it or say matches/come very close to ?
It was between this or the harbor freight version I guess it’s a no brainer after this video!
