I love his comment about priming the pad. Yeah I’ve seen guys do that. Also put on a ton of polish. They don’t blow it out on the hood and they turn the rotary on and they sling it all over the place. I remember back in the day using the rotary, we literally had to put bedsheets over the windshieldsand then water them down so they’d stay. Yeah I guess I would say I was one of the guys slinging it.

Back in the 70s and 80s in Orlando. We used to run down to the local junkyard and buy a hood. Take it home set it up like you guys have it and just literally practiced ruining it wheel hopping it all over the place burning the paint just tearing it up.then trying to fix it.. Those are fun times.

There are so many people on social media telling people how to polish. Yvan’s ideas always struck a chord with me and maybe it’s because us racers think differently. The rotary is so much smoother and my forearms can tell a difference after polishing compared to a dual action polisher. Thank you for sharing this instructive video!
