@@rosaleacorle2854I also took my mom shopping and all other errands, and went to lunch after. We also went to lunch after church every Sunday. After she died at 96, I felt like I lost my best friend. I miss those times so much. I think I took them for granted until I didn’t have them anymore. So, Tipper, enjoy your mama (lately I noticed that you refer to her as mama, rather than granny) I like it because it just sounds more personal, I guess.

Second comment because I had to comment about what you said at the end.I don’t have much family left…my parents died young,my sister lives in another country and I’m 4000m from home living in a city with my teenagers until the last one finishes high school and I can go back to Vancouver island… As a single mama my teenagers are my world…but this channel and your family Tipper feels like family to me.I live vicariously through you as I’m bed bound a lot due to having CRPS after I was run over by a van and the glimpses I get of your families traditions make me smile and feel included. My 15 year old always asks me for a recap of your videos and asks how you are all doing 😂 She is so busy with her studies and piano she doesn’t have time to watch much but I do and I update her. She’s been praying for granny and we’re both excited about your grand babies.I’m thankful for each one of you ❤❤

Tipper, Matt, Katie, Corie and Austin may not be aware of it but they have a positive influence on the mental health of so many of us watching them in KZread. Human beings are social animals and we need to have interaction with others and do so by commenting. Too much isolation is detrimental to our health.

My mom never drove so dad did all the grocery shopping. After dad had his first stroke he couldn't drive so I would take him to the store. I was fortunate that working 12 hour shifts at the hospital and working weekends gave me days off during the week. So we would schedule time on my days off. I really miss that time with my dad. Then after he passed away I would take mom to the store until she got to where she couldn't get around. Then I got groceries for her. Now she's been gone since 2017. I really miss them both. But, now that I am old I have our groceries delivered from Walmart. Gotta love that.

Tipper, you are so right about family. Family is the most valuable gift you will ever have. I remember going to the grocery store with my Momma. It was a big deal too. I can remember riding in the front of the buggy. In fact my sister & I would argue over that position. Later I took my 3 kids & oh as they got older I really dreaded it. However, I’d give anything to have all three of them in tow again as little ones. Now they are grown, and their kids are big, in fact some of my grands are grown. Where has time gone? I have gone grocery shopping with my grands and always picked up packs of Fruit Striped gum for them. They all still talk about that gum. It really is the little things isn’t it! Well, I’m trying to stay warm. Looks like snow will be here tomorrow. Hope you get a good one! ❄️❄️❄️🥶❄️❄️❄️🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

We always got snacks for the drive home, I usually got either a box of animal crackers, sunflower seeds or fried chicken gizzards from the deli. I could never chew them very easily but the breading was delicious. 😂 We got between 18-24" of snow since last week, blizzard Friday and Saturday and now -11 real temp. Took Brady back to Milwaukee between storms and I80 east was absolutely littered with semi trucks. It looked like a war zone. We decluttered and organized our bedroom as well during the blizzard. Lol. Also vacuum-canned some dry goods. Have a great week! ❤❤

Until I was 25 years old I never heard of putting anything but mustard on a hot dog... I'm from Texas/Oklahoma region. Our hot dogs usually had mustard, chili, cheese, onion and sometimes sweet relish. Ketchup was reserved for french fries and the top of meatloaf. 😊

My baby brother, when about 3 years old, came in for lunch, and mom asked," What do you want for 6?" He replied, " a hot dog with peanut butter!" Mom was a little surprised. She fixed it, and he ate every bite of it. We were a little surprised. He didn't change his mind and say, oooohhh! He enjoyed it, and he never asked for it again. The only thing Mom could figure out was that he craved protein. 😊

Here in Northeast Washington State we eat our hot dogs with ketchup, mustard and "picklish"....My sister makes it. It's (homemade) a relish made with bread and butter pickles, onions and sweet peppers. When we were growing up we had a big garden and every year my dad made bread and butter pickles and pickled beets. We lost my dad 2 years ago, right before Christmas and making things that he used to make, like the pickles, keeps his memory alive. We miss him so much. I look forward to your videos--all the best to you and your family in 2024.

Around here they make hotdogs “all-the-way”! Mustard, slaw, onion and chili!! I’m not old enough to eat ones like that of course, but I do like chili and onion and mayonnaise and ketchup. Hee, hee!! We are so excited to see you guys make that new “big” garden!! We go to the grocery store mostly every week or every other week. Now I take my Mom to get groceries. Have to follow her around the store and hope she can make a decision and stick with it. Praying right there with you for some snow this year in NC. I do think about you every time they say there might be snow in the mountains and wonder did Tipper get her snow!!

I live 5 minutes from the grocery store, so if I need something quick, it's great...I don't like to grocery shop more than once a week...I go with a list and get out as fast as I can...I like to shop the deals esp. meat...When I was a kid my brother, sister and I went to town every Friday am during the summer months as they looked after us while Mom and Dad worked...We each got a quarter to spend...I always bought a small box of black babies, jujubes...those were the good old days...We used to wear our Sunday clothes in those days...Have a great week...God Bless🙏🙏🙏

My favorite memory of grocery shopping is with my Grandma & Grandpa. They would go to several stores a few times a week to pick up provisions. Started out the day my Grandpa would stop at the local Pharmacy and pick up the newspaper. When Grandma was in the store he satin the car, cracked the window open and light his cigar then read the paper. Grandma would pick up meats in one store, produce in another and miscellaneous stuff in another. I would switch from staying with Grandpa in the car or go with Grandma in the store. ❤❤❤❤❤

One of the landmark restaurants in Roanoke is the Roanoke Wennie Stand. They had a man who stood in a window and made hotdogs so fast you could hardly see his hands moving. Not only was there a crowd waiting to get in but one watching the operation. As a lad my Dad and I would get some every time we went down town. They were 15 cents and included the wennie , bun, mustard, onions and a chili... out of this world. For several years every time we visited my wife's sister in Richmond, we would get a dozen hot dogs from there and take them with us for her. Not only are they still in business but have added another restaurant on Lee Highway near where I live. By the way they didn't allow ketchup in the building! Skip Salmon Turkey Bottom Roanoke, VA

When I was younger, I used to shop at an IGA, which was a very small grocery store. I also loved the Amish grocery and general stores and would get my dairy needs straight from their cows. At least for me, those days are long gone, and I, too, now hate grocery shopping and try to go once a month though usually every third week.

We like to put our spicy Bread & Butter pickles on hot dogs and burgers. It's just a home canned Bread & Butter pickel except before you seal the jars, add 1 sliced jalapeño pepper (or two) and 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes to each pint jar before processing. People love them so much, they buy jars from me every year.
