Mom and Pop country stores take care of alot of people. Feed them ,have a little of whatever you need to save from driving to town and provide conversation and a friendly face. The people working there are literally The salt of the earth❤❤❤ .

Love the old girl in the kitchen when she was asked if she was working hard - "This work's not hard, it's steady". Women like that pioneered across America just getting stuff done! What a legend!
Just good, solid, dependable, hard working folks that enjoy taking care of their community. These are the kind of folks that make America great
Having travelled from the UK to the USA and travelled across it many times by road, I've always found the folk get nicer and nicer the further you get away from the cities. True Americans are the best, most welcoming of people. You can tell the fella cooking the ribs and biscuits is a quiet guy and is not entirely comfortable being filmed, but he went along with it anyway - Great guy with much skill turning out that much quality food in that space. Great video - Thank you.

I'm from Indianapolis and moved too Southern Indiana and people here are nicer than Indy. People in more rural areas just take things slower so their more easy going

@@hoosierproud7718definitely. I live right outside Indy [Hamilton county, you'll probably know where it is] and the people down in martinsville where my cousins live are so, so much nicer. Less concerned with stupid nonsense too. I always loved going to visit and just interacting with the people working in stores, restaurants, etc. They just make it fun to be around them. So nice and welcoming.

I have to agree with that. I’m so..glad I learn how to do both from my mother growing up. Love homemade Buttermilk biscuits, and Sausage gravy. My mother Mom made great homemade biscuits and Sausage gravy. No matter where you’re at in the south it’s all so…good.
What a lovely place with down to earth lovely people! Richard is a master in the kitchen...he has it down to a science with technique and timing and the food looks amazing! He may be quiet but he explodes with talent! Great video!

Hard work, dedication to their community. These are the people the community needs and loves. God bless you and your community appreciates you.
Probably 65-70% of people have worked in foodservice at sometime in their lives. It would be the 30% that have not, that can be impatient and demanding customers. No examples of that in this video but I was just thinking about it. Cooking for the public at any level, Chef or Cook deserves great respect.

I did a quick search and you were spot on, 63% roughly have worked in the industry at some point in their life…while they don’t get the respect they deserve, they should, along with other service focused industries, be lauded for what they do. A certain famous person came to this earth to not be served but to serve. We all need to remember that when we want to pitch a fit that our food is taking too long…at least we have the time, money, and ability to even get the food.

Delivering food for the homebound. Working at a food shelf, or a food pantry is very satisfying. Giving a person a piece of paper, asking them to sign up for a monthly box when they deserve it, and need it is very cool.
Love these Country Grocery Store, Deli, Food videos. God Bless all these fine people. Thank you for sharing.
This is a really great video showing the country restaurants and i enjoy watching these about the lesser known stores and restaurants Thank You John.🇺🇲🍞🍔🥓🥩☕🇺🇲

This video 📷📸 was absolutely amazing and incredible. I love it when people want to keep old general stores in business because that is how it was back in the day. And I hope and pray 🙏 that these old general stores will always be alive. I want to personally say thank you to everyone at the general store for all of your hard work and dedication because it is outstanding 👍💪. But most importantly I want to thank John for all of his hard work and dedication for filming these amazing places. May the good Lord always bless everyone and keep you all safe and healthy where ever you go. Enjoy your day and take care

Watching Richard cook was impressive..
I live in a small town called Whitwell TN just outside of chattanooga. I love watching this video im just 37 and its crazy how much things change over the years. Love little stores like this had a lot around here that are gone now. The older gentleman at the end of the video is the kind of guy you can set back and talk with all day.
People that watch Gordon Ramsay on kitchen nightmares and wonder why he gets so pissed when a restaurant can’t clean its kitchen or serve edible food, look at this. These guys don’t have half the resources that some of those kitchens do, but they work hard and they appreciate the people they serve. That’s the difference. When you appreciate the people that you serve, you never want to disappoint them.

Richard is making biscuits with White Lily flour which is a SOFT strain of wheat found mostly in the South, while most wheat here in the USA is the HARD red winter wheat strain. The soft strain of wheat is known to produce much better biscuits. The brand is available on line for shipping. I love a good biscuit with some country ham on it. Best to all...

The gentleman who was wearing the “Maynard Auto Parts” baseball cap was very informative (apology, I didn’t catch his name). I loved it when he said when he was growing up, money wasn’t a problem! So true! They ate pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes. That is what I grew up on in North Texas. Those truly were good days and good people. Hard working just like he is talking about. Everything revolved around the Church! He is a very wise man. Would like to hear more from him. This was a very enjoyable video. Thank you John. God bless all! 🙏♥️

Watching this video has been great the crew has been so kind and friendly the food is on point.
Very much enjoyed this video. The interviews were well done and the store owners and the employees were so interesting. Keep up the.great work. Thanks!
God bless the people running stores in rural America.
Look at this God taking raw ingredients and making absolute masterpieces of food without one shred of ego. I promise you this is better fooood than anything you'll get in a five star restaurant
these type stores are absolutely the best. imo there aren't enough of them. Martha is a national treasure. Women like her are what this country is missing.
I love behind the scenes prep like this one . He is a master biscuit maker!
That is a smooth running place.
The gentleman you talking to had very very good memory.
White Lilly Flour is a kitchen staple if you are from the South. That flour cant be beat when it comes to baking.
That cook is awesome! Those are the prettiest biscuits I’ve ever seen. Everything looks so delicious!
I learned that when you cut your biscuits to not turn the cutter, just cut down and lift up, and the biscuits will rise higher.😊😊
I remember Judy's years ago. I grew up in lafollette but I now live in Cleveland tn since 06. I sure do miss lafollette . Keep the videos coming. Thanks for the videos and you do a fantastic job.
I respect them using White Lily for their biscuits instead of a cheaper product. That’s a mark of quality IMHO.
Real Americans ❤
Great video! They all knew what they were doing and worked together very well. Everything they were preparing(food), looked absolutely delicious. Especially those ribs. A man of few words, but could tear a kitchen up! Safe traveling and Thumbs up!😎👍

I really enjoy country store thank you for sharing with us.God bless.
I love watching your videos because it's the way Portsmouth. New Hampshire used to be before It was taken over by Boston and New York developers and now my downtown is like Disneyland and people are just not nice anymore. Thank you for the reminder of how life could be.
This reminds me of the country store /last supply market. In Otter Creek Florida. They have a small kitchen. But they make the best biscuits .Sausage, egg bacon, etc ...Whatever you want from scratch.. They offer other menu items. But definitely have the best biscuits. Thank you for highlighting and reviewing these American treasures!! Hopefully you can do a review on that place.

Yup ain’t that the truth. It’s all repetition. You do it day in / day out for 2 years straight you just know how it’s done. Nobody can easily replace a person like that & he’s worth the pay
Used to work in a food distribution warehouse. On my Thursday night shift, we would get done with work on Friday morning and quite a few days, I would end up going on my brothers route and head home with him to stay at my grandparents for the weekend. I eventually got my own route and loved visiting the buisnesses and seeing how some of the places made their food. My aunt was married to an old Vietnam Vet and his mother ran a small restaurant for a few years and ate there a few times. You learned where to and where not to eat while delivering food and supplies.
I grew up around a spot just like this in Virginia. They still have really tasty fried bologna sandwiches and the old timers are still hanging around. Some of the nicest people around.
Great video! Talk about multi-tasking! Made me hungry watching him cook all that delicious food up for the customers ❤ thanks so much for sharing!
Two hard working people. Richard obviously has his routine down and it obviously doesn't include chit chat. I'd definitely eat there.

Pretty awesome. I remember back way over 30yrs ago my grandma had Back then Coble whole milk and was in a yellow gallon jug. I think that is pet brand milk but first time I saw a yellow gallon milk jug since then and we are in South Carolina not that far away. Really cool! Was supposed to help block as much light to keep it fresher longer I think was the idea.
