I remember Ata ur rahman puked during match. Went off. Came back and finished Sri lanka off.

What a wonderful match... Great captaincy by Amir Sohail ..still remember those days...

Despite India not playing in the final, Indian commentators (Sunil Gavaskar & Ravi Shastri) were both cheering for Pakistan’s victory; that’s a good gesture and an act of kindness.

@@msqsn8092 commontators like richie benaud, ian Chappell, toney graig, sunil gavaskar, Geoffrey boycott, asif iqbal, Tony coziar, Ravi Shastri, ramiz raja etc are supposed to be the best in commentary box as these people had class and complete knowledge about how to mention everything related to ongoing contests between teams on grounds. They never behaved like a bias. Now look at harbhajan singh, virender sehwag, Akash chopra, irfaan pathan. They are pathetic in commentry, remained biased for Indian team and behaved like nothing but jokers. It really shows the standard of cricket in today's time. Whether it is matches or commentry, everything has lost its class and prestige.

I was 19 year old then and was watching the match live and then went emotionality disappointed, power off the TV. But in the news then the newscaster red the news of Pakistan victory i was shocked for about 1 minute and the history of our Pak cricket era is full of these types of matches. Lots of time by watching different matches when TV powered off 📴 with disappointment and then hearing about victory in news or by friends with this kind of face 😮 was my habbit in those days

What an incredible bowling display.Srilanka 100 in 9 overs and ended up on a loosing note.

I think this match was played in Singapore. Great comeback by Pakistan. Showed their character.

I remember this Match 7 April 1996.

I was in school and when we heared that pak won the match as we only saw the batting of pakistan and left for school. as 215 was very least total to defend but out class bowling of Pak bowlers. Our teacher came in class and said congratulations pak won. We all strated dancing miss those days ......fastest 50 of jasuriya did not help Srilanka.

This match is like ODI for first 50 overs of Pakistan. T20 for first 10 to 15 overs in Sri Lanka innings A test match for the rest of the match

Hitting over the inner field circle especially in the first 15 overs during field restriction power play was pioneered by Kris Srikkanth coz he was known to be poor at defensive shots. Sanath Jayasuriya and Mark Greatbatch and others followed suit which became a norm by all teams later.
