Sharjah Cup was an international Cricket tournament that took place at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium in Sharjah, UAE at multiple times. The last edition was in 2003.
The stadium usually hosted two tournaments a season, a "Champions Trophy" in October/November, and a "Cup" in March/April. Pakistan Has Won The Most Sharjah Cups with 15 cups.

He scored two consecutive centuries next against srilanka one fifty played on nov 10 1996 Sunday I think he missed the triseries in Australia later that year where pak won these team as an Indian loved nowadays cricket I have stopped watching

He was nearing retirement by then... I think he retired next year
After returning from back injury in 95 Waqar lost his pace a bit hence the effectivity with the old ball as well. But with that out swing he became a terrific new ball bowler till the end of his career. This tournament plus the one in Kenya, the NatWest trophy in 2001 in England, the tournament in Morocco 2002 and multiple Sharjah cups are examples of his new ball skills.
This a pretty formidable New Zealand eleven. No wonder they made it to the final ahead of Sri Lanka the official world champions.
I remember watching this live and seeing a visibly annoyed Wasim Akram coming to bat. It was fascinating. He just didn't want to be there as he surely felt the batters should've done a better job chasing the total down. He was so nonchalant the entire time that it was simply brilliant to watch. At one point Anwar called for a tight single and Wasim just turned his back on him, Anwar was almost half way there, could've even completed the run but Wasim was having none of it. Some great little moments here there throughout the chase. Good old times. I think this was also the tournament where Simon Doull kept bowling no-balls during the start of one of the matches, it was 6 or 7 in a row, maybe more.. Can't remember which match, though.

Exactly bro. I was 7 and at a wedding, on both the matches.. This one and final... And also, we discussed how umpire venkat gave some dubious decisions. Ek ladka bola usne ghoos khaya hai... Golden days man...
