I remember this series as part of the Golden 90s where cricket matches used to be more thrilling and decisive.....strong teams...and even Zimbabwe were one of those strong ones who did pose a serious challenge to some of the mighty teams at that time..

"That is beautiful to watch...well for Waqar it is". After Waqar gets through with a lovely inswinging delivery. Also, Pakistan fielding 2 top world class fast bowlers and 2 top spinners. All top 10 quality, no wonder Zimbabwe struggled.

Moin Khan was a real fighter and match winner. He is hardly ever talked about when they discuss the great team of the 90s but I think he played a crucial part in success of that team. Growing up watching him play, it felt like Pak was never out of it until he was on crease.

Damn that delivery from Mushy that got Andy Flower! Reminded me of Warne's delivery to Straus in Ashes!

that Zimbabwe team was the best team they ever had...they were looking strong in late 90s...gave tough competition in this series...defeated the srilankans as well..

Bhushan Deshmukh they almost made it to the final..... But did better in there next trip to Sharjah and played the finals at the expense of Lanka in 98... Only to be trumped by the master himself

what a series it was...saw lot's of up & downs...i remember i used to come home after finishing my annual exam of 9th std only to see the highlights after the game without knowing the result..bcoz there were no mobile score..live updates...and it used to be a gr8 fun watching highlights with out knowing the result....gr8 upload yasir bhai...u gave us those memories back...😚😙

this match was played on apr 9 1997 wednesday the last sharjah series played in whites srilanka were the winners pakistan missed saaed anwar but even when they lost the finals it was a really great fight aravinda desilva stood like a rock and he was the man of the series as an indian really miss those old pak players

Moin has won more matches for Pakistan where we used to have 50/6-7 and he would stretch the scoreboard to around 150 and pak would won becuase of good bowking.. good memories of 90's..still rejoice those beautiful days

Once Zimbabwe was a very good team .l always loved to watch them playing competing cricket .One at a time they played regularly against India .I loved their mentally tough cricketers .And Andy Flower , he was exceptionally superb against India .

Moin Khan was always the Superman he would always bat well while the rest would crumble and save the day, and his keeping was amazing, best wicket keeper Pakistan ever had

it was the best team ever of Zimbabwe my favorite flower bros, whittel bro, steak ,paul strang,brandes,wishaart etc all r good players zimbabwe ever produce.

​@@knowldgezone6261 we had best players, but we hardly won against teams like Australia, SA, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.. don't u know that moron.. remember that 135 knock by Ijaz and 194 knock by Saeed.. and all records from different players of the world were against India.. our bowlers were shattered like anything by batsman.. after Srinath's shoulder injury he wasn't like what he used to be.. and the main reason for our defeat was we had players who were involved in match fixing and hats truth.

Bro at that time, we were having a batting average of 230ish now our battling average is 270ish. Overall bowling is neutralized with the help of rules and law implemented by ICC over recent times. Overall batting is advantaged.

Moin Khan used to play well under pressure. He really saved this match for Pakistan and the bowlers did a great job as well. That Pakistan team was a dangerous side with lethal batting and bowling combination and they would have won the 99 wc if they just took right decisions and had unity in the team.

Yes jo just 1 player, out of the whole team of 11 .. and you term the whole national team as fixers .. In the 90s, players paychecks didn't use to be as big like now so players from many countries got enticed to get involved in match fixing... not defending it at any cost .. I think it was a terrible thing, but more of a global menace...Remember Manoj Prabhakar, Jadeja, azhar and even Hansie Cronje !!

They defended successfully twice couple of months before against aussies and mighty windies in Australia, 149 against Australia and 166 against windies.

I wonder why we don't have Mushtaq Ahmed's best bowling videos on youtube. I remember once he was chosen "Play of the day" on CNN (a segment in sports news) when he took the wicket of English wicketkeeper Alex Stuart 5th time in the series. Bowled by Mushi caught by Asif Mujtaba on short leg.

That's why i love Pakistan.
