This episode really benefitted from the comedy so much, doesn't feel forced or anything, such a "feel good' rendition of What If...? Gotta be one of my favorite episodes out of the series so far, the tone was consistent and actually funny, LOVE IT!!!

I loved Loki’s ice horns, his frost giant swagga and his “brother from another mother” line 😂 also you can soooo tell Tom Hiddleston loves playing the character in anyyyyy shape or form 😂 he always delivers! Now my questions are what happened for him to be a frost giant in this universe? And would Laufey even take him back after leaving him in the first place? 🤷🏽‍♂️

I'm guessing Laufey didn't leave Loki to die because he was born a normal sized Jotun baby. But Loki was clearly somewhere he wasn't supposed to be when Odin found him. That would explain why Laufey was glad to see him. Maybe this helped fix the relationship between Asgard and Jotunheim so Loki and Thor could grow up to be friends.

I think you mean JC Leyndecker? It certainly isnt Rockwell who had a very iconic flat lighting notan design in all his paintings. The entire series is supposedly inspired visually by J C Leyndecker so all the still images shown share some visual style similarities with that area of work.

The writers may have also meant the line from Thor, “You try to drink it all but you can’t cause it’s magic!” At 6:40. May also be in reference to the myth where the a frost giant challenge Thor to a drinking game, but used magic to make Thor think he was drinking mead when in actuality he was drinking the ocean and it was so much so Thor couldn’t finish it but his drinking is what causes waves in the ocean at least by Norse mythology.

Slight correction to your correction. Thor could and did drink it. The challenge was to empty the mug, which he was unable to do. Utgard Loki even said afterwards that the world's ocean was lower than it ever had been afterwards. Keep in mind though that Marvel doesn't follow Norse mythology. Laufey was Loki's mother, not his father, for example. Also Loki was Odin's "blood brother". I think it's fair to say that there were probably sorcerers at the party that had enchanted the mugs.

He revealed his true form in the Doctor Strange episode and he has appeared like that ever since.

My favorite reference from this episode is "my brother from another mother" which Tom Hiddleston has said multiple times about Chris Hemsworth!

There’s so many good things about this episode but Damn I love the three seconds of Yondu being there only to just stand there, looking out of it, and keeps drinking.

This was such a fun episode. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Pretty sure you can use the Infinity Stones to do pretty much whatever you want. Not specifically to just snap away half of existence. I think what they can do is only limited by the imagination of the wearer of the gauntlet. And technicalities like bringing back the Soul Stone sacrifice.

@@Filterdeez Easy, mind Stone is connected to the other stones and can “home in” on them. He doesn’t need to give up anything. Convince any would-be heroes they need the stones as much as he does, they go get the soul stone thorough a sacrifice and maybe an anonymous tip, Ultron ambushes and kills them and takes it.

Odin was asleep, and Thor was busy partying, leaving Asgard unguarded. Maybe Ultron some way some how got to Asgard and snatched the stones in Odin’s vault that we saw earlier in the episode?

@@goldenghost2001 The chapter sort of uses the thousand years of diferences that Odin not adopting Loki generates to excuse all of its weirdness and continuity issues. Whos to say that, in this universe, Odin didnt got around to colect all the stones to keep them for someone else getting their power? Its unlikely, but the episode is weird enough that i wouldnt be surprised.

Earth's history was likely altered as well since Norse mythology would be different based on the lack of Loki.

I mean, the other interesting thing about the vault scene here is that the end of Odin’s vault is no longer The Destroyer because there’s no need to have one protecting the Casket of Ancient Winters with the Frost Giants being friendly. Instead it’s that place where Thor gets beer for the Warriors Three.

The Casket was never the only artifact stored in the vault though.

I been saying it on all the reviews but I really appreciated the Thor vs Cap Marvel fight. Feels like comics in its purest form, debating which heroes would win in random fights. Also glad I'm not the only one that noticed the watcher blinking as standing out.

What if is a complete flip on our stories. Loki and Thor have faced so much death and darkness that it’s refreshing to see them super upbeat

I think the jug actually refers to the drinking horn Utgaroa-Loki gave to Thor to try and drink as part of his challeges to Thor, Loki, Þjálfi and Röskva as they travel to Utgard. No matter how much he drinks from teh horn, it just refill as its conencted to teh ocean. The mug in Dr Strange is a reference to this as well.

Thank you for think that this is all in the same universe. Only episodes I believe are different are Zombies and Strange Supreme. Those are the only times you see stones otherwise. That's why no starlord in this episode, because it's T'Challa he never formed with the Guardians so he would be I'm Wakanda as well since he came home.

Wait a minute. Doesn't Thor have goats that pull his chariot? Maybe Gary took a side gig before going home. As of the end of the Zombie episode, Thanos did not have the mind stone.

The scene where Thor drops the hammer from one hand to the other reminds me of Game Of Thrones, when Arya Stark drops the knife to hit the Ice King in his stomach. 13:28

Seems to me the main difference in this timeline is that baby Loki was born normal Jotun size and was probably not left to die in the temple. Laufey was glad to see him so one assumes he was just temporarily misplaced and Odin found him but didn't think he needed to be rescued.

@@RRSmurf no. If you look at the still of Laufey holding baby Loki and smiling, he looks like the right size for a Jotun baby. The still before that one of baby Loki's face doesn't really indicate his size.

I love how Loki referred to Thor as a son of a witch

This was such a feel good episode and after the last three, we needed that.

Side note vision's reveal when the helmet flips up is the same silhouette as the comics Galactus
