I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. My only complaint is that there should have been more screen time with Gorr. We should have had at least 1 or 2 more scenes of Gorr hunting and killings gods. The film didn't convey how much of a threat Gorr could be. The film needed those extra scenes with the villain.

He missed 2 parallels. First, when Thor was in the vault of eternity, him getting saved by a thrown mjolnir from Jane was just like in endgame when cap threw mjolnir to save him (both times almost getting stabbed thru chest). Second, instead of raising storm breaker like Thor does to summon the bifrost, Axel places it on the ground like a staff, just like how heimdall placed the sword in the slot of the machine bifrost.

I think it's so sweet that Gorr's whole reasoning for becoming God Butcher is that a god failed to protect his daughter and therefore he thought Gods cannot be trusted to protect. At the end of the film be trusts a god (thor) to protect his daughter

Some symbolism that I appreciated was the markings on gorr’s and his daughters body. When we saw his world’s god, he also had the same sort of markings on his face. He knows Thor not just enjoy himself but also use the act to hild his hurt, but he also knows Thor delivers and he does care (hence the talk). You watch their interactions (direct and indirect), you can see Quill learned to read right past all of that. They really should have given the movie a more serious tone lightly undercut with some humour instead of humour lightly undercut with a bit of seriousness. I think they can keep making disney references aslong as they are on earth and it makes more sense since disney can exist on the earth but when u put it into the wider universe just for a gag it just feels like they taking liberties with the mcu which really undercuts the immersion that i was hoping for. Not to mention how they represented zues, they really should have tried to make him a more serious character but still incredibly dismissive of "lower" lifeforms. @@user.LCW01 Yeah that makes sense, I do remember them trapping other gods and titans in various places.
I think vision not being on Thors tattoo is hinting at vision not being dead remember, vision came back as white vision and that would apply at White vision did not fly into The sun or some thing at the end of WandaVision so he’s probably going to come back in another movie I think that what The tattoo is hinting at.
I didn't realize that the actress playing Love was Chris' daughter, but it does answer the question I had at the end: I wonder if that is how Chris treats his own kids? And the answer is yep. No wonder their chemistry was so good!! ;)
Hemsworth coming back for a 5th movie is incredible fan service on his part. No one would’ve blamed him if he wanted to call it quits. So happy he’s still willing to pick up the hammer though. Truly becoming the GOAT of Marvel. Gonna be hard to beat RDJ though ;)

I mean, he gets to work at home since they film most of it in Australia, he loves working with Taika Waititi, his kids get to be in the movies and he gets a much bigger payday doing this than probably any other role...oh, and he's an Executive Producer so he has a lot of creative control over the character. If Thor was still the character from 1 and 2, I'd agree, but given the direction his character started moving to in Ragnarok, leaving the role now would be an odd move. He's got a dream scenario for an actor.

This movie definitely had me in stitches from beginning to end. Taika was allowed to go over the top and he did it right!!
I think the comment about half our soldiers are always dead refered to Hela's army , the beserkers as they did serve Asgard at some point, but thank you for this awesome video!
I feel like people who complain about the direction of the film would actually at least appreciate it more with that Forrest Gump comparison. He has his own arc that is subtle but his heart remains full and optimistic, helping others, even those he hates, grow and become better people. Thors small arc led way to everyone surrounding him having big arcs just like Forrest.

Mr. Voss... YOU ARE THE BEST... and your attention to detail is amazing!!!
If they had shown some scenes of Gorr butchering Gods in fast forward mode(like in 5 minutes),this movie would have been perfect. And After realising the process was too time taking, Necrosword should have told him about the Eternity and Bifrost. Then in another 5 minutes, Gorr could have murdered Eitri because of his refusal to build another storm breaker.(I don't know where Grandmaster fits in here). After that movie could go on same with some more action in the final battle against Gorr.
I like the fact that Thor seemed more... knowledgable here, when he described the Omnipotence City, the Shadow Realm, and the Necrosword. "Ragnarok" dumbed him down quite a bit, so this is a nice change.

i gotta say, this movie has to be the funnest movie of stage 4, possibly of marvel ever. its amazing, and great depiction of it!
When Gorr beheaded the celestial head to fall on the children, I thought that was a nice little wink since in the comics the necrosword beheads the celestial knowhere, the statues head even looked like the comic book’s celestial head.
the smudges on thor's cape in the town hall scene were not from the shadow realm, but instead were from earlier when Stormbreaker's janky Bifrost crash-landed him on to the monument, when he came back korg mentioned his cape was burned

18:13 - This shot of Jane/Mighty Thor is whatever the opposite of the male gaze is. So badass.
We all know what Jane really whispered into Thor's ear, "it's thorbin time".
Thor is like Chandler from Friends. Telling jokes is his protection from painful feelings. He wants to have a family but he is afraid of it. He takes Jane's cancer so seriously. He cares and is supportive. The deeper story goes, the less jokes is told. Very good movie. It could be better but definitely it is not disappointment.

The goddess of magic looked like the Egyptian goddess Isis. There was also a big white dragon (?) in the room across from the golden dragon. Made me think of the Luck Dragon from the Never Ending Story but that's very unlikely. I'm excited to see if people will try to figure out all of the god cameos.
Just realized there was a further rock, paper scissors joke with paper beating rock when Korg’s revolution was beaten by pamphlets. Taika is brilliant!
The best part of this movie was Bao the God of Dumplings. Probably the strongest God at that meeting. Would of loved to see Gorr try to fight Bao and lose.

two things i noticed 1. the shot of thor and jane sitting away from each other on the couch, there was a little bit of subtle imagery and foreshadowing when mjolnir was sitting closer to jane than thor 2. there was an empty chair next to bast/bastet, the symbol looked like the grandmaster’s staff or some of the details around sakaar or something like that. probably bc gorr killed him in that shot that was left out of the final cut.
