To be fair, I can’t tell if you’re talking about how short an episode is or time in universe. In Loki, the entire season one… is 1 week. They both had very short but impactful character development😂 also Wenwu and Hela are amazing together. I hope they’re in the GOTM

I mean it just it took Loki to watch alll the events that transpired in the mcu that Involve in minutes of the episode compared the amount of time we spent with in the movies

I was expecting Hela to be like Ultron last season and just wipe everything out. Instead we got like a remix of Thor and Shang-Chi. Really cool stuff.

Thanos definitely would of been beaten sooner seeing how he didn't want to fight Odin You basically got Hela, Thor , and Loki who together are probably as powerful as Odin if not more

@@thepubknight6144 I would understand that, Odin outright confirms this in Thor Ragnarok upon Thor facing Hela at the final battle, so to combine the efforts of all 3 children of Odin would be an even greater way to expand this concept.

I think Hela is still the Goddess of Death. Death isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s all part of the natural process. Hela’s armor being white could also be a reference to white being the color of death in Chinese culture.

I think that the transition to English is similar to in Way of Water, where we hear English because everyone understands the language. They're not speaking English, but we hear it as such because both Hela and Wenwu understand the language.

I really enjoyed this episode quite a bit! It mixes completely different sides of the MCU together perfectly, and a lot of really cool stuff came out of this episode. My highlights of this episode were the action and especially the final fight because that was really cool and well done! Props to the animators for animating one of my favorite final fight scenes in the MCU! 8/10!

Wenwu responding in English is to indicate they're both speaking the same language and not subtitling the whole episode, not that he speaks English (which Hela absolutely would not have been speaking herself).

I think this was definetly the best episode of the season I think its onpar with some of the heavy hitters in season 1

Having seen all the episodes, this and the next are the best. Very fun.

What is very interesting is that Heimdall was there during that time period. I always assumed Heimdall was born after Helas banishment and began his watch during the time of Thor.

When you mentioned Zeus it made me wonder. Did he know of Odin? Did they meet? What did he think of them? Would be an interesting topic to cover or be covered at some point in the MCU perhaps.

In Love and Thunder Zeus recognizes Thor as asgardian and says he thought they were all gone when Odin died. This means he has to have some knowledge of Odin and has tabs on him to know he died

Honestly Hela became one of my favorite characters after this episode, just love to see a different side of Hela.

I really want a Zeus vs Odin next season. They as well could give us one based off Mephisto.

Seeing Hela as a hero is great to see

The choreography in this episode was so incredible and it definitely can stand toe to toe with the rest of the MCU’s live action choreography.

Culture are meant to be shared and I love how they depicted it in this episode. culture should be appreciated not only appropriated❤

This episode was beautifully put together. Hela’s arc in the episode was shocking and well done. The team up with Xu Wenwu vs Odin was epic. Very good stuff. S2 of What If…? has been a great step up.

Jessica has been doing amazing! OMG this episode was so good, never did I think that Hela would be humbled, heck it had me rethinking of my own past 😅 it is pretty crazy how Odin had a tantrum towards her even after she ended her quest of power over everything!

I enjoyed this episode a lot! Favorite behind the Captain Carter Episode

I would totally watch a series following Wenwu and Hela liberating the universe. Imagine being an imperial Chinese Ten Rings soldier going from earthly conflicts to suddenly visiting Asgard and using the bifrost to travel to various civilizations. Such a fun idea.

The Ten Rings probably originated with the Chinese gods of Ta Lo, as they have in the comics. They aren't Asgardian.

Odin is a really bad father. First Loki, and now Hela. There's goodness in both of them, even though both are gods of mischief and death

also idk why he tries to connect the tesseract and casket of winter being blue to odin. the tesseract is blue because the space stone and the casket of winter well its ice and cold so blue fits it best.

This episode had it all the evil phase realisation phase and the good phase of goddess of death Hela. Loved it all the way! Reason why we need what if is cause of stories like this keep them coming! Also i wish we get more of what ifs before end game era!

I really like What if. I just wish they'd stop killing Thanos this easily, or use him sparingly.

14:20 also notice that Odin has both eyes. He never gave up an eye in the pursuit of wisdom, therefore he is less wise in this universe.

Yess glad to see you're back! But just wanted to say it's definitely not culturally appropriating when the person of that culture invites a guest to wear what's traditional especially if they're in their home in that country and inviting the guest for in this case, tea. Love Hela being the Goddess of Light! This episode was insane! 🔥

I think they're just speaking Mandarin the whole time, but wen wu is bilingual and Asgardians study every language.

I think Hela can speak Chinese because all Gods have something called the AllSpeak that able to translate their language for they can understand you and you can understand them

I believe it's called All-Tongue, but that isn't canon in MCU since Thor mentioned in Infinity War that they have language courses.

(thor mentions taking an elective of Groot's language, but given of what we know of how others learn groot, it isn't a language that can be properly conveyed using a translator either)

This episode was so inspiring! Loved it so much!

I noticed Odin still have both eyes. That means he hasn't hung himself on the world tree and sacrifice an eye to receive all the knowledge and wisdom, which would have helped him in dealing with Hela. Maybe he lost between exiling Hela and Thor being born.

I interpreted the quick turn back to conquest from Odin as him not yet having had to sacrifice for the wisdom to know when to stop. He hasn't lost his eye yet and hasn't had those hard won battles.

I think Odin from this universe feels he has absolute Dominion over the 9 realms. That is why he scolds Hela at the beginning for wanting more. It’s less of a switch in attitude and more just Odin knowing what’s his and what’s not.

i'll be honest, this is my favorite what if episode so far. wenwu's my third favorite mcu character and his dynamic with hela was so fun and cute! makes for a delightful potential ship XD i really hope we get to see more of these two, maybe even a sequel episode next season!

After watching this episode, I've learned one thing Shang-chi can beat Odin 😂
