Martin Large Bore Bb Trumpet - Hype or Worth it?
Horn Introductions:
Episode 8.
The Martin Handcraft Imperial Large Bore Bb Trumpet
This is an extremely rare Martin Handcraft Imperial from the 1938-39 era of production which is a #3 - Large Bore Instrument.
It's actually the horn I paid the most for in my entire collection and is still in great condition.
I explain where I bought this from, why and demonstrate the sound profile of this horn.
Hype or worth the big money? Let me know your thoughts.

WOW, this horn is Very VERY rare. I have never seen a Martin Handcraft Imperial in Large Bore, about as rare as a Handcraft Committee in Large Bore.
I can barely hear the audio - and my speakers are working fine.

Hi Dave, I will check on this. Are you talking about the talking sections - or the whole thing in general?

@@thebrasscellar It's just the talking sections that are soft. The horn with mic is perfect in terms of volume and clarity of sound.

@@davewondra863 Thanks - I will up the recording volume on the talking mic to compensate on the next video.

If you are looking for a Large Bore Handcraft Imperial or Committee these are really hard to find. I do have a Handcraft Symphony Large Bore I would part with. I will shoot a video on that soon - so be sure to sub so you can catch the update.
Very nice demo. Your audio sounds very natural. How do record your videos as far as mic and editing software used?

Hi Jon, thank you for checking out the video. I record the vid with a Panasonic G85 camera. Audio is recorded separately with a Zoom H4n. With the optional remote you can switch between the onboard mic and the Shure 98H clip-on I am using. There is no editing/reverb etc for the audio. I basically sync the vid and the audio together after recording using basic editing software. Hope this helps. Rgds Shawn

Hello $3500 USD from memory. It was a lot but it's completely original including paperwork and won't be for sale for a long time again. Thanks for checking out the video
