My grandparents got married 3 months after meeting in 1959. Married 59 years (till my grandpa died from lung cancer) 8 months later my grandma died from lung cancer as well. She never looked at herself as a widow those 8 months because he was the only one for her and just because he was gone didn’t mean they weren’t still married. To her that marriage was literally forever not even death could take that from her. I wish relationships these days were as good as they were back then.

Kindness and communication...very true...My 1st husband verbally and physically abused me, I would always have to walk on egg shells with him- he criticized everything I did literally. I divorced him and was single for 3yrs before God blessed me with a wonderful kind, communicative, very funny and peaceful man. I'm so thankful for him.💓 I knew he was the one within 60 days- didn't know that was possible. When its the one you'll know it without a doubt and it doesn't take a year certain characteristics they'll have already, you shouldn't have to train or help him to be a man he'll know his role and supply your needs as he should. Within 6months we were married, brought a home, he traded his car in for a family suv etc. I'll NEVER leave him I've been laughing from the time I met him.

Wow! Reminds me of my grandparents! Grandpa passed at around 108 2013 and grandma around 97 a year later.. We knew she wouldn't live longer after Grandpa left...They were married around 81yrs... Things I learnt from them was forgiveness, compromise, selflessness and above all, Grandpa was a Reverend, a man after God's own heart, so he led his family as Christ wanted him to... Both grandparents saw 5 generations... I do miss them big time..

Pure respect and admiration for the couple! Simply beautiful!
This is so heartwarming and beautiful. A reason, a season, and a lifetime! They are so blessed and anyone who meets them are surely blessed, too. I love seeing positive stories like this.
How wonderful. I would have liked seeing photos of them when they were younger.
They survived because they had no social media .. those were the good days

Oh my what a BEAUTIFUL QUEEN, Mrs. Willie and Mr.Dw handsome!!! BLESS YOU BOTH!!!
A wedding is not about how many people are in attendance. It’s about celebrating the love between two people. She’s focused on the ceremony which most girls are but she’s focused on the wrong thing.

Agreed. Did you know that the divorce rate is actually alot higher with people who had big weddings? Alot of those people marry for the wrong reasons anyway trying to impress the wrong crowd. A wedding is meant as a commitment between people who love one another.

Right...cause seems like the ppl who have those big, lavish weddings are the ones ending in divorce

Shenice Says you are exactly right!! The wedding is just a big show for other people. My husband and I got married at the courthouse with just three other people and a party at our house that night. Been together 24 yrs and married 20. People need to understand that it’s about the time and effort you put into the “marriage” not the “wedding”.

I'm completely Astonished how young they look for their age. They act as if they were a couple in their 20s in Love in a good way. They are the epitome of couples goals
This is the realest and most beautiful relationship I’ve seen

To have a love like this...!! My sweetheart and I met in kindergarten. Baptized together. Grew up on the same street. A lifetime love. We make 50 this year!!!
If one of them die I bet the other would pass right after true love❤
It's a great blessing to live that long with the same partner.

My my such a lovely couple...role models to the less fortunate in love.
I've never seen 100 yrs old look so good. She looks amazing and can pass for late 70's! My grandaunt lived to 104 and looked good too.
They were married in 1937. They were married throughout everything. The Great Depression, WWII, the Korean War, the atomic bomb scare of the 1950s, the assassinations of the 1960s (both Kennedys, Malcolm X, MLK) The Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War and so on and so on.

God has been with them all the way through what a great marriage they have lived through and this give hope and is inspiring to the younger generations

They know the meaning of marriage is to be together no matter what dear and not about what you have in your pocket. We live in fancy life. May God bless your life and guide us all.

Grandma seems to have more energy than her daughter. This is wonderful.
I've seen quite a few old couples uploaded online to social media, etc, but this is definitely one of the greatest elderly couples I've ever seen. They are so down to earth. ❤
Thats the life i wanna liveeee. Forget the marriage, i wanna grow super old and be so lucid look so good
82 years of marriage that is longevity, to God be the glory for the great things he has done and it is marvelous in his eyes.
