Even if you are only counting games that are playable on Nintendo Switch, *which is what Nintendo is doing here* , Sunshine and Galaxy were both available in Super Mario 3D All-Stars...unless that was just a hallucination, and there never was a Super Mario 3D All-Stars!

What, there were other games in between? And your telling me they aren't available for purchase even though they were ported to the switch?! Nonsense, every game Nintendo ever made is available on the eshop and there no need for emulators.

I remember when we had to wait 23 years for the next Mario game! They called it the "Great Mario Gap". It's hard to believe New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe took that long to develop, but clearly it paid off.

They also omitted New Super Mario Bros. DS, New Super Mario Bros. Wii Galaxy 1 + 2, Super Mario Land 1+ 3, Mario 3D Land, Mario 64 DS if you're being picky... There's a few omissions. And then you could get suuuper nitpicky and say that Super Mario All Stars is its own game - and what about the rerelease with Super Mario World? Super Mario Run? What about all the Satellaview stuff, or Mario Paint? Do the RPGs count? There's... a lot of oddballs that they're missing here.

Congratulations, you figured out the purpose of Mar10 Day. They've been doing this same thing since 2017, just adding new Mario games to the list every year.

Inconsistencies 1:The skip from SM64 to NSMBUD 2:No Sunshine or Galaxy because of 3DAS’s stupid limited release 3:This was posted on March 5th I’ve never seen a video game company so salty about people making better retro experiences than them.

All these older games available on the Switch, amazing! Nintendo sure loves emulation. What a fantastic way to enjoy these classics on different hardware!

Missing mainline games. Mario land 1, Mario sunshine, nsmb DS/wii/2, galaxy 1 and 2, and 3D land. (All I can remember)

Note, most of the older games might be no longer playable in years to come when ever they shut down the switches online service. Just puting that out now.

None of them will be playable. NSO requires a periodical online check-in, which won't be possible if the servers are shut down. You don't own those games, and Nintendo won't let you own them, so you're better off sailing the seven seas anyway.

And credit where credit is due, at least with the Wii U you can actually go back to the games you purchased. Despite the online service shutting down.

I hurried & bought it off the 3DS shop before it was closed, so I have it in there & the original cartridge...but it needs to be on the Switch 😓

Don't forget, Nintendo not only has worse emulation than their fans, but they also have worse emulation than themselves. The Nintendo 64 emulator on Wii worked significantly better than the one for Switch Online

​@@VonSnuggles1412That was probably because the Wii used IBM Power PC, as opposed to the Switch using more powerful, and different CPU architecture. Something like that could cause issues with emulators, or other programs, since Nintendo's programmers would be used to writing software for one kind of CPU. Nintendo consoles from the GameCube to the Wii U used IBM PowerPC. As for the DS family, that was ARM architecture.

i really loved the classics shown in this promotion (totally not ad) called super mario land, new super mario bros, new super mario bros wii, new super mario bros u, the original super mario 3d world, super mario sunshine, super mario galaxy, super mario galaxy 2, mario paint, hotel mario, super mario bros: the lost levels, super- wait, what? what do you mean they're not here?

This felt more like an advertisement for the Switch and the Nintendo Switch Online service than a celebration of Mario. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth that Mario Sunshine and Galaxy 1+2 were left out.

The way they just chopped sunshine and galaxy off just increases my desire to mod my v1 switch, RIP Yuzu...

I noticed that every time that a new game is shown, a new stage transition is used, a vine for SMB1 to SMB2, a pipe for NSMBU to SM3DW, a neat little touch.

It will be announced on the June or September Nintendo Direct and there will be an additional story mode starring Yoshi as a playable character and it will mark the first 3D Yoshi game ever made!
