    My jaw dropped to see the watch used for construction use, a very ballsy move with a 2K watch! I admire that you take life as it comes without babying it. Thats the way it should be with a sports watch. Nicely done.

    Truly an amazing watch. I own one too and I really enjoyed your 6mo review. I think one of the saving graces for the glass not getting scratched is because it sits deeper than the bezel. I've yet to scratch mine as well. That watch looks great in every band you've put on it!

    It is so cool to see that tough watch getting used and put to the test and then you can wash it up and it looks brand new! Great close up shots. I think the reason why you have not marked the crystal is because the bezel sits high and protects it very well with the crystal sunken in like a g-shock. Thanks.

    Spot on review and I agree with how startling it looks everytime you glance at your wrist by chance. Love the OEM bracelet and strap and figure that it may have been where Seiko cut cost to keep the price down. Nonetheless, bracelet and strap still looks great imho. I used to think that if it were only 1mm or 1.5mm thinner that it would be perfect, but now I feel like the bulk actually gives it a character that is unique to its true purpose as a saturation diver watch. It’s the only bulky watch that really caught my attention. Wear yours in good health!

    To get a shot of the watch on your wrist from a distance to see how it looks overall would be awesome. Give the watch a sense of perspective of how it would look as a part of you and outfit. Up close views are amazing, yet it would be awesome to see the overall wrist presence of the piece.

    Great video as always! I have tried the MM300 on once and it is a woderful watch, but there are 3 things keeping me from buying it (if we disregard the money :)) 1. Hands - if only the minute hand was a bit longer, i have a thing about hands reaching to their markers and the minute hand on MM is too short for my taste. 2. sapphire - I wish it had one, and those who start to talk about "but it is a professional dive watch and hardlex is better for tool watches" then why does Seiko put sapphire on their top tool watch the 1.000m Tuna? 3. the bezel insert - I wish it was made of ceramic or sapphire to make it scratch resistant, because it looks soooooo nice all shiny and reflective and it would be a shame to scratch it (which you will eventually) Other than these complaints I think it is one of the best looking retro divers around and the monocoque construction makes it unique and interesting. I hope you enjoy yours for many more years and make a video every 6 months to a year so we can follow the condition.

    All very valid points Marin. I love the handset but more length is always welcome. If Seiko would take some of these comments to heart (as well as slightly scaling down the size to 42mm) I think they would have a vastly popular quality diver

    Hello. I like your videos and watches. I was looking for a good dive watch and came across with Seiko MM300 and Orient Saturation diver 300. I like both. However, I wonder if MM300 worth almost twice the OS300. What do you think? Should I go for the OS300 or save up for the Marine Master? Or should I get other ones like Seiko shogun or sumo lol.

  • @BruceWilliams

    @BruceWilliams

    8 жыл бұрын

    Good question, I've owned the MM, Shogun, and Sumo. I've yet to see the OS300 in person. As far as value for money the OS300 and Sumo are the leaders in my opinion. The saturation diver is big, robust, and well executed. I love the pr indicator as well. It has the same ratcheting clasp as the MM and you can find them for around 1000. Problem is they are very big and heavy. Some cant pull off the size and heft comfortably. The sumo is amazing value for money but will ultimately make you want to buy the MM since its so good. Of the 3 the shogun was my least favorite. It wasn't worth double the sumo in my experience. Another one to consider is the new transocean. Sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, 6r15 movement, new lume, and integrated bracelet. It looks attractive for about 1000. I would just say do a lot of research and buy the one you think you would enjoy most. They are all great watches.

  • @BruceWilliams

    @BruceWilliams

    8 жыл бұрын

    Both are unique and fun to wear. The MM is twice as expensive but really excels. The finishing, feel, movement, lume, and wrist presence is much better. If case size is an issue though the 50 atmos wears smaller. The MM is comfortable but a big watch

    Great review... Been thinking about getting this watch. How would you compare the MM300 to the Squale 1521 or Squale 2002?

  • @BruceWilliams

    @BruceWilliams

    7 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, I've not handled a 2002, but did spend some time with a 1521. After Squale's rash of qc issues, I just don't have any enthusiasm for the brand. I did enjoy the level of comfort and value for the price point I noticed on the 1521, I like the fact it's based heavily off of the original Squales and Heuers. But I do prefer the more expensive Marinemasters. Apart from also being a heritage design the movement, lume, and finishing definitely are nicer than the Squale. Being a strap fan, I appreciate the comfortable factory bracelet and rubber strap that come standard on the Seiko

    Jack1979 this watch was made for saturation diver and that's my profession and hardlex is far better to wear when doing construction diving over sapphire now if maybe like you only being a desk diver then yeh sapphire for sure, but it was made for sat divers!

    Hardlex suits the watch better in my opinion. It’s a retro diver and that thick curved hardlex looks great. Also... maybe It isn’t the usual hardlex as I’ve rarely if ever heard of an mm300 scratching on the crystal.

    There is nothing wrong with pin and collar. I’ve had screws back out on Tudor and Ball bracelets. Pin and collar have never failed me. They are not difficult to work with if you know how. Long Island watch does a great tutorial.

    "sapphire is scratch resistant but shatter prone while hardlex is shatter proof but scratch prone" -- I have heard that asserted before, but I have seen no proof of it. In fact, some of the best divers rated to deeper than MM use sapphire. How is that possible?

    +mountainhobo Exactly.. Agree 100% ..Look no further than the Rolex deep sea.. How about Aquadive.. They specialize in professional dive watches... Seiko just needs to up their game a bit and offer more for the price as others are doing.

    Great review, Bruce. Just a couple of 'druthers: 1) Lose the gloves! Very, very distracting. 2) "Literally" is used too many times, and in the wrong way.
