I liked how he showed the speed of the space marines that they aren't slow and they are quite fast and deadly.

The Horus Heresy alone are over 50 books and that is only the beginning (it´s WH30k) . WH 40k is over 30 years old and get expanded every month more. I think there must be at least over 200 books in grim dark future of 40k.

That was actually a Gal Vorbak I believe, not a normal daemon-possessed space marine. Pretty much exclusive to the Word Bearers, they share a more symbiotic connection it seems with the daemon they host allowing them far greater power. They became a thing after one of their trips in the Warp that caused a number of them to have one inhabit their bodies but not possess them in the normal sense.

The dude had doen such amazing work to this trailer. Showing the action so clearly and the flow of the fight scenes is perfection. I love the bit as the World Eater charges in, taking plasma shots to his arm and chest and just screams "FUCK YOU I GOT A CHAIN AXE!" Even the scene of the Ultramarine Captain cleaving a traitor in two with his weapon. The timing of the slice to how the body drops and splits in two before dying is magnificent. The Trailer is a work of art from start to finish. It breaks my heart knowing the animator just up and quit after making the first part of the movie. He read like a few minor comments like "I dont understand what's happening in ". Like he couldn't take on bit of comment or minor criticism and was like "fuck you, You're not making this any more, I quit!" I'm not bad mouthing them here, mind you. I'm just sad that no one is there too help encourage him to keep at this passion project. Because THIS...THIS right here is WAAAAAY better than what's been coming out of GW's Warhammer+ I would legit pay $100 or more for him to make a movie of the HOrus Heresy.

It started with the istvan 5 dropsight massacre where Horus sent down all loyal legions to istvan 5 via drop pod however during their decent many of their drop pods malfunctioned or were destroyed as the warmasters fleet bombarded the planet wiping out any and all who tried to escape, only those in orbit were able to escape and you’ve got to remember that each marine is like a walking armored fighting vehicle with insane levels of mobility and speed where a single marine is worth a hundred men, and not only that but also the solar auxilia as well it’s akin to half of the army, navy and air force joined together vs the home guard the

No doubt that the creator nailed everything about the lore and feeling of 30k, as in armor, architecture etc much better than what Astartes did with 40k, where the environment feels more like just generic sci-fi (except for a few things). The problem with Death of Hope is its structure and storytelling. Unless you've read the books or wiki about this specific chain of events (Battle of Calth, The Shadow Crusade and the HH "politics") you're unable to make sense of both the trailers and the part 1. Then it just seems like random scenes of battle and isn't really that engaging. Astartes meanwhile, while some purists will say he got things wrong, managed to tell a compelling story that can mostly be understood even if you have little to no knowledge of 40k and that brings all the boys to the yard so to speak.

You will be introduced to the war for calth during the book War for the abyss I believe. about the furious abyss, to add on the praetors even Ezekyle Abaddon said "We are warriors, not barbarians." I also really like the movement of the marines, as you read in the books like with loken in the sparring cages, theyre supposed to be lightning fast.

Bullets moving at hyper sonic velocity can defeat any kind of armor, because they seperate matter at the molecular level upon impact (liquefying; even if the bullet shatters on impact, multiple hits can strip armor pretty quickly). The only thing that scientifically makes sense at defeating them would be some sort of ablative armor. It does not matter how thermally resistant or deflective armor is.

The Ultramarines armour that you mention at around 12 mins, the ones wearing it are the Invictarus Suzerains or the Invictarii guard, depending on whether or not the are in a honour guard role. you are partially right about it being the armour of the preators, because generally the preators or senior captains within the XIII legion are former members of the Invictarii, leading to them using similar armour and weapons Also, if you want to read about the Calth conflicts/ shadow crusade, start with the horus heresy book 19 Know No Fear, then some of the short stories and Macragges Honour, then book 8 Battle of the Abyss, followed by Book 24 Betrayer and Unremembered Empire (book 27? can't remember)

One ultramarine did run theoreticals of what Marine vs Marine combat would be like, but when he was discovered he was punished, and had his helm painted red as a sign of his disgrace. The Ultramarines used the red helm as a method of censorship as they would often adopt practices that other legions would use, and the Nightlords would paint the gauntlets of a marine red. Though in the case of the Nightlords this custom was taken from the gangs of their home world and was quite literally a death sentence, the red gauntlets meant that they would be executed, they just didn't know when. The Nightlords first captain Sevatar did "something" during the Istvan 5 battle that resulted in his gloves being painted red and would thereafter be known as Sevatar the Condemned. During the battle at Calth during the HH, the ultramarine who had the red helm fought so well that after the Ultramarines changed the custom, so that the red helm was used as a symbol of achievement. Now in 40K Ultramarine Sergeants have their helms painted red as a mark of their rank and a throwback to the Marine on Calth.

May I suggest, "If the Emperor had Text-To-Speech"? It's an absolutely hilarious, and rather informative series by Bruva Alfabusa. I could go on trying to explain it to you, but honestly it'd be better to let you jump in blind. I have a feeling you'll thoroughly enjoy it. Can be something you sprinkle in-between your other content. Keep up the great work!~

I think I agree, the animation could be better. But it oddly fits because the novels describes the space marines as very agile and insanely fast despite their heavy armor. Its apart of the reason these men are demigods and are commonly seen as angels.

The Imperium was flawed. It was probably not going to work. The more you look at it, the more flaws it has. Many sub-factions, power vacuums, too many systems relying on singular rulers and the human medium. The law, the economy, the production, the jurisdiction and representative, in the hands of few. Probably, the Emperor would've done sth about it sooner or later. But Empires like these, are a lot like Rome. Ever growing, ever spending to keep itself up, exponential growth is the main employer, till it finally collapses into itself.
