@@popland1977 you can literally see her vocal chords contracting during FLAB. 100% live, you’ll just won’t let Mariah fly. That’s okay though the more you lie on her the more I support her!

This was her comeback. She said in an interview she felt like she had to prove herself again.

if you notice, her face was red as hell 🥺 she really gave her all that night ❤️

When she closes her eyes right before the choir emerges I think she has a tiny prayer and says "Dear Lord, carry me high and be ready because I'm about to transport this entire theater to your presence. This was the only standing ovation of the night. A Grammy award that opened with Madoina performing and Kelly Clarkson performed Because of you, yet Maria outshone each and everyone. After her performance Terri Hatcher from Desperate housewives and Michael Bible had to announce and award and Terri couldn't hold herself, she said "OMG it's like we have all been saved" of course Mariah was hugely snubbed by the Grammy's, when they announced U2 as the winner for record of the year production got confused and played We belong together, which in 2010 was deemed the song of the decade, it stayed atop the BB hot 100 for 14 weeks. U2 stood in stage and looked at Mariah and said "Mariah, you sing like an angel, really something else."

👍 gospel album!! She singa them only in Christmas oh holy night silent night

Who else can pull of a performance like this since 2000s? I can't think of anybody, some people may sing the song but nobody Ive hear has been able to interpret it that way. Not even Morissette. I love to think that right before the choir emerges on the back in Fly like a Bird and the do a close up while she closes her eyes I feel she is praying and saying "Dear God, I'm warning you, be ready because I'm about to transport this entire audience to your presence in the net minute and a half." It's also really amazing when you take your time and listen closely how she raised the octave in three parts right before the climax in We belong together, she goes normal "we belong", first raise in "together, second raise in the first syllable "ba" and the third raise up to the 5th octave in the second syllable "by". That's how you see her agility in space of a word or syllable she is working her vocal range in a sublet but very musical way. And the last "Who's" in the climax of WBT where she sings "who's gonna take your place" she actually hit a whistle and immediately went back to upper chest belting in the space of a letter. In the very last part of Fly like a Bird when she hits the whistle she actually does and ascending arpeggios through all of her registers in one breath singing "Higher Jesus" (not many can sing words using their whistle register, last known person with proper diction there was Minnie Rippertone not even Morrisette has enough diction), listen how she starts in upper chest register, mixed voice, head voice, super head voice and ends in whistle register. Definitely unmatched, Kelly Clarkson and Mary J Blige were backstage viewing that performance and they said that they could not believe what was happening on stage, Kelly said that she literally had to councsiously tñell herself to close her mouth. If you like the choir performances you should check out either live on Oprah or the X Factor UK performing I wanna know what love is in 2010
