When the same goals through the middle are being scored week after week against this team and no change in defensive strategy then the manager has a problem. There have been tonnes of injuries too which raises questions of his training style. And his attacking strategies arent great either. There are tonnes of facts to prove these things. So I dont know where Van Gaal is coming from talking about facts.

I think everyone has been harsh on the guy, including myself recently. At the end of the day though the guy is a human being. Being a football manager is unlike any other job. The pressure is unreal, and all the blame is thrown on you. The team perform poorly for just a few games and your job is on the line. I have always liked the guy as a person, i like strong characters, and he seems like a pretty nice guy. Im sure he hates losing as much as the fans hate the team losing, so its not a nice situation for anyone. At the end of the day though, the players need to perform. 20+ shots with 1 on target in games is not Van Gaals fault. I will support the guy until his time at Man U is done. I really believe we are a world class striker / winger away from being a truly elite team.

+Wayne O'Connor ok perhaps you're right, maybe we are being a bit harsh towards him, but we didn't sell di maria, chicharito, van persie, etc... and now we find ourselves having no striker, no wingers, and we're playing boring possession 0-0 football because of the lack of creative players. because of that fact, all the blame is on him, and it should be imo. cheers

+tkeus991 We sold those players because they failed us- We called RVP old, Dimaria flop and Chicha a one dimensional striker but now we want them back? you have to understand he sold those players to rebuild the squad from scratch with core players with potential

Abdiaziz Osman i understand where you're coming from, but to call a 60 million pound winger a flop after a first season in the club is not logical to me. and let's not forget the lad was 2nd in assists even though he played half the matches, but then again, van gaal is a bloody idiot, what did i expect. he won stuff over in barcelona and munich, but cmon, how hard it was to win with those teams ?

  • @eragonosman

tkeus991 Fair enough- You have to remember, Dimaria didn't want to play for us in the first place; he was forced out of Real Madrid and would have gone to PSG if it wasn't for the transfer ban- End of the day, our squad under Fergie and Moyes was full players who weren't United quality, players who were old and needed to retire and players who lost the desire and motivation to play- LVG isn't idiot, his one of the few managers who can modernise a club and it's only been a season and half man, its the media trying to paint picture that we are in crisis, we were 1st a couple weeks ago and I believe if we sign quality attackers, our team will be amazing

+Daniel Plainview Not sure what the journalists feel then and now, especially considering they have been doing it their entire life, they probably feel nothing, just another story, they are not that stupid to get into this job if they didn't know what to expect, if that's not the case they would have quit long ago? What I know is some fans and a particular manager sure feel like shit now when they leave the Britannia, especially the AWAY fans, I repeat, the AWAY fans, these are not just the typical tourist fans at home, these are your AWAY fans. Even if you didn't believe what you saw, you have to believe your ears, what a joke. First you flew a banner over your own home ground wanting your current manager sacked(at the time), now you have the guts to chant another manager's name in an away game, how will the REST OF THE WORLD think of you lots now? Absolute jokes. You all called the Chelsea fans 'plastics' but they actually backed their manager even though they were as low as 16th in the table and now we see this atrocity? I wonder if we can find words to describe the united fans.

Felt like watching his old press conferences. Think we lost a lot of respect for him during this time because of the losses and style of play, making us perceive everything he said as a kid of rubbish. Really felt the emotion in this one, I feel bad for the guy. He stood up to the media which is only a losing battle, you'll never catch Wenger picking out the people spreading rumours because he's smart and he knows it's a losing battle, Louis was smart as well but he was also stubborn.

Arsenal fan here. Very good on you to back your manager. In today's world, we are very impatient. I believe LVG will come good. He just needs time. This is a manager who has been in football for at least 30yrs. People just need to chill out and let him do his work. It's so unfair how he's been treated and if you think for a minute that Mourinho is better, then you're being really desperate. Stick with LVG. Look at Wenger. Even Ferguson. They had the time to do what they needed to. ManUtd is too big a club to be chopping and changing managers. Grow up.

Thomas Parker yes I think so too. Most probably he will retire when h said he would. And maybe he will do good for us. Who knows. I used to support him passionately but I've lost a bit of that since we lost at Bournemouth and Norwich. But we are United, we cannot abandon tradition and become like all other clubs by sacking managers for short term success. Even though I admit it's really frustrating and torturous to watch United play these days under LvG. I hope all that changes soon... Because Giggsy probably still won't be experienced enough to take over and I'm sure United will not hire Mourinho. So LvG it is.

Paul Valles I understand that. I don't think any club has had a period of such prolonged success as United had under Sir Alex. It should be regarded as a rare occurrence not a common expectation. It has spoiled us United fans. But still, I am fine with not winning the title or not making cup finals. But I'm not okay with us playing like shit. I say this, a manager either gives us good results or good football. If he gives us both then well and good, but if he gives us none then there's something wrong. We might not win the league anytime soon but we need to start having the winning mentality back again sooner rather than later.

Let’s be clear, Louis had to leave the club but Woodward and his cronies treated him with utter contempt. He was sacked hours after winning an FA Cup, despite Woodward assuring him for months that his job was safe. The club also failed to bring in the calibre of player Van Gaal wanted. Van Gaal is a legend of European football and he deserved more respect.

In Spain and Italy, especially Spain, journalists are actually even worse. Yes, much of the action in these two countries was around Mourinho, but look at what they are doing to Rafa now. And it's not like Madrid are complete crap or are at the level of MU, no disrespect to them. It's how it works and managers should be able to cope with it as harsh as it sounds, it's become a part of the job unfortunately. I like that LVG is being direct to journalists and mocks their absolutely stupid questions sometimes.

Every damn time I criticize a Manchester United manager, I end up feeling like shit every fucking time. Whether it was David Moyes or LvG. I always end up regretting my decision of criticism. From now on I will stay loyal to every Manchester United manager. These #LvGOut claims need to stop! The man is trying his best whether our football is boring or not, he is building a team of players for the future and slowly transforming them to great players, look at Smalling already, he is now world class from being a black hole in Manchester United's defense, Jones is showing signs of improvement, Shaw is on the verge of being one of the best LB in the BPL, look at how much Herrera's improved since first signing for us, Lingard, Martial, Borthwick-Jackson, Wilson, Pereira are all on the rise. Sure there may have been some downsides like Rooney but that is down to the players. He has shown he builds a team for the future with Barcelona and Bayern, so what if his philosophy is boring? We will be thanking him in the future, he will be the unsung hero in the future.

Louis you have to know that when you sign up to play in England you have to accept the rules of the game. The press will twist and turn your comments and comment on your personal life. Welcome to England and think a little about how Ferguson survived so long and also how good he was.

Drop the MIC and walk away like a G! Big ups to Louis Van Gaal for calling it like it is and not entertaining any ridiculous follow up questions that those pariahs of the media were hoping to ask. Every week they stir the pot, asking managers stupid questions and they politely answer them only for them to have their words twisted. Don't find yourself in 1st place, they will ask you ALWAYS, "do you think you can win the league?" Then you give a resounding yes and the very same week you are beaten by Aston Villa or whatever team may be in last place and it's off with your head.
