I watched a game between Man U and Sheffield United in 1968. It was awesome, George Best scored 5 gaols something like that. By the time he got to the goal box goalie was bamboozled. He scored 2 first half, We were right behind the goal posts 2nd half. George and Paul were both a joy to watch, absolutely masterful.

Rest are all gooood, I swear if we change these players with better ones, we will achieve. Eg. Bring hakan calhanoglu from leverkusen and have him play CAM, and bring up young for the RW , darmian rb , and buy that Rodriguez guy from wolfsburg and set him as LB thats the best thing I swear.

I absolutely wanted LVG to go after an abysmal make or break December. His tactics were pre-historic and were nullifying the players individual talents. I'd imagine there was a 'talk' between the board and LVG after that, because his tactics have changed in the last few games. The players are getting forward, there's no more theoretically-grounded tactics, no more sterile attacking etc. My worry now is that with the half-season left, the creativity and dynamism within the team won't be fully realized after 3 months of LVG's tactics.

No one can disagree with Scholes here. No one.

I honestly didn't mind van gaal the only problem I had was the inconsistent results and the play style

He might not be the best of speakers or a pundit of the quality of Gary Neville, but Paul Scholes knows exactly what he's talking about. Fellani's not the type of player that sits deep and dictates the play Scholes says. Scholes was the best player ever to play in that role in my opinion. so there fore yeah.. he knows exactly what he's talking about.

LvG played boring football but won a trophy, Ole played decent football and won nothing. Scholes just wants more jobs for the lads, protecting ex-Utd players and trying to get rid of proven great managers like Mourinho, LvG and Ten Hag.

Scholes is correct. I'm not a United supporter but as a fan of football I expect to see more when I invest in the time to watch them. Exciting and attacking football is a United trait and LVG is taking that out of them. The forwards are constantly as far up the field as they can be and nobody links up the play from midfield to the forwards. Teams just sit back and allow United to stroke the ball around in their midfield knowing their eventually going to put in a bad pass or cross it in the box - which they can defend in numbers and counter attack. There's no pace or quick counter attacks from United these days, I remember Schmichael's long throws to Giggs and Kanchelskis. Back then United would be defending a corner and within 10-20 seconds they'd be scoring up the other end. I can't remember seeing United score a first half goal this season! I'm sure they have, but I can't remember it, I can name many 0-0's though. It's turning into boring, boring Man United!

The problem is, Manutd are simply just aren't moving the ball up the pitch quick enough. They aren't stretching the opponent's defence. There was a moment after Sheffield's first corner where Manutd had the chance to attack on the break, but all you saw was Rooney(?) running the ball up the field, while 3-4 of the other attacking players were jogging up. The Manutd of past would have those 3-4 players busting their guts to run beyond the Sheffield defence for Rooney to play a pass/through ball to. It's also incredibly frustrating to watch how low risk we're playing when we've pinned the opponent in their own box. Make more forward runs and dink the ball into the box. Make runs off the ball and make the defender think. Don't think that a well organized lower league team is going to open up so easily simply with intricate passing. If you play and lose the ball -- good. Invite the pressure because we know can defend, then hit them back when they are caught out.

There was a counter attacking opportunity in the first half and we couldn't finish it due to the pedestrian pace of the rest of the side. Pisses me off, in another era we'd be burying counter attacks

Whike watching the game I remember thinking, ok 1st, ur playing sheffield united, a third division team. WHY THE HELL DO U HAVE 2 DEFENSIVE MIDS!!! Second, u would see fellanini in the box and then u would see him on his defensive end at time. Like what role does this guy have? Whats the point for him to be on the pitch? Third, in so many occasions u would see united have 4 or 5 people in the box during a time when they should look for the open spaces, i mean its sheffield united, there gonna give open spaces. U could see the quality of team that sheffield was. They would just kick the ball up, they should be no competition to Manchester United. Scholes dont want to admit it but yes they do need a change in manager. He's obviously not changing the game plan. So get someone who will. They do have good players. They just don't use them. Ooo and their complete idiot for letting di maria go. Hes a world class player, IF u use him correctly he can be a hand full for the defense.

I would take Scholes critism seriously if only he had the balls to say wayne was a problem too not the solution, says all the right things and then when it comes to Rooney you wonder if we have been watching the same game, Wayne is finished and no amount of getting the ball to him will reverse that if anything will only highlight how over the hill he is, I have never seen a more dramatic demise of a player.

No it was van gaal not cruyff. LVG reached final of champions league with barca under him youth players like muller, davids, seedorf, kluivert, xavi, iniesta the list goes on. I am presuming you are english and love tony pulis or sam allardyce football. Eddie howe good manager but cant judge until he manages a big club trust me LVG is the right man for Pep to take over.

Rooney can score.. But you can't expect Rooney to score when the midfield supplies him nothing.our midfielders aren't free and our strikers are constantly floating around the final 3rd waiting for decent pass or cross.our crossing is atrocious.

I agree in some ways and at the end of last season we were looking good and playing decent football. But then he let players go for no reason like Rafael chicharito Evans Nani who would have been good for depth. Also his football style seems to suck now with not enough movement.
