I dont think there is a more entertaining man in football to listen to than LVG

When LVG says, "What do you mean?", he was genuinely confused. And the media realized (confirmed by their awkward laughter) that they were just stirring shit.

The reason he is so angry is they keep twisting his words into things he didn't say. The 20 goal a season striker thing for example, was him answering a reporter who had pointed out that at the moment no striker at United was on for 20 goals, which is true, but when Louis acknowledged that the papers reported that he claimed United didn't have strikers capable of 20 goals per season, which he didn't say. Then you have the pundits coming out "how can he say that when Rooney and RVP in past seasons yada yada yada yada..." he DIDN'T FUCKING SAY THAT. There was also the thing about United being the "best team in the league", they misrepresented that too, some reporter had pointed out at the time that United had the best string of results over a certain period, and had the best results in the league over that period, he agreed with it because it was factual but then was quoted as saying "United are the best team in the league" over all. In this case, he can see the reporter fishing for a quote about van Gaal and Giggs, he could already see that the next speculation in the press would be that they don't get along and he got annoyed. He doesn't trust a single reporter in that room clearly, and then you have the shitty blogs etc. to deal with too. He's not the first manager who finds the English media insufferable and he won't be the last. It also doesn't help that he has a reputation as a hot head and he has a very short fuse so he's probably easy to wind up.

I thought Van Gaal handled the pesky media people brilliantly here. Gotta put these reporters in their place sometimes and show them who's boss.

Why should he be nice? Did he take the job to be nice to reporters? He doesn't give a fuck about the media. He took the job to bring United back to CL, and hopefully win a few titles. The media is only a distraction and he doesn't need, nor have to, please the media in any way. Stupid comment.

he's been in Spain for about 4 years, he is totally prepared to deal with crap journalism. British media compared to Spanish media is very very very soft and respectful.

He doesn't need to be nice, at all. Infact, with the way the media act like vermin, feeding on scraps just to get their article in the local paper at anyones cost, I'm not surprised more managers don't just give the media the middle finger - at times they do not deserve the managers time. Managers are accountable to just two groups of people, the fans and the owners. The media are nothing but an annoyance.
