Almost all RC radio transmitters (Jumper, FrSky, Nirvana and all other OpenTX radios) have trims. When flying classical airplanes, their usage is obvious: you trim your airplane with trims. When using any flight controller or stabilization, they immediately become useless. Trimming has to happen on flight controller (INAV, Betaflight, Pixhawk, Ardupilot), not on the radio itself. Luckily OpenTX allows you do some tricks with trims:
* disable trims so they will not accidentally break anything
* use trims as 2 position switches and assign them to any radio channel
* use trim to reset flight and timers in OpenTX
The radio I use is Jumper T16 which you can get from

Love your videos Pawel! When you want to select a switch or a trim, or what ever in OpenTX, just click it, and it will be selected... no need to look for it.

@@snir2001 hay there, I see this is over a year old, but asking everywere I can. I'm using X12S. Since update to 2.3.10. And 2.3.11. I can no longer select in model setup, the option for use of external aerial. Before hand when I had 2.2.3. As was on trans when brought second hand, while using internal XJT, I was given prompt for using, internal aerial, external aerial, or both. Alert !!! I just got the Jumper T16 Pro. To work with dsm2 and dsmx receivers BOTH internal RF and external RF have to be ON in the model setup menu. After hours trying to make it work with the internal RF only and no response I try both on and wala!! works.

Interesting way of turning off trims! In flight modes huh!? I was trying to turn off my trims yesterday... I went to INPUTS and for each channel there is a box to enable or disable trims. I tried it on one, however, it didn't work. Trim was still working. I wonder if to do it this way, I would have to disable trim on input, mixer and output. Have you tried it this way?

It does not matter which you do first, they do not affect each other. Autotrim is the most useful I find. Autotune tends to lower the P values too much for my liking.
