Thank you for the Audacity WAV file settings tip! My QX7 did not want to play my wav files and the 32000hz and mono mix down did the trick. Works great, thanks!

Startup sound is definitely the most important aspect to customize. :-D

More people need to do this! I had my startup as "roboteers stand by" and my arm switch to "activate" and unarmed "cease"

Or do as we did to a friend. Changed his custom tones to moaning sounds and phrases of the line "yes, touch my buttons", because that's the way.

This is great Robert. One of my favorite special functions was with Kraken at Maker Faire. They dual-rated their radio, and when they flipped a switch that put the drive at maximum, along with turning the eyes red on the bot. Looking forward to more radio videos.

yes! people need to do more fun things with their radios. I have a switch on mine that automatically brings the weapon up to ~20% or so. Makes it easier to start a match, since it's a momentary switch, you can just flick it, it gets the weapon spinning, and then you can adjust it from there.

Eh, I just googled and found the files. I'd have to grab my radio and pull the files off of it. Just google around and see what you can find. Just make sure the format is compatible. I go over that in the video.

Don't worry - those are just protective covers to stop the gimbals getting knocked about and wrecked in transit. They lift off, and the regular sticks are hiding underneath. (You're right, though - they do look pretty weird!)

How much do one of those puppies run?

  • @EleanorPeterson

Hi, Jonathan! Possibly around £180 in dusty old-fangled British pounds. The carbon-fibre effect is printed on and costs extra; fancy Hall-effect sticks will increase the price, too (IMHO they're swanky but not essential for combat robotics). So... about 180 quid. Not sure what that is in US dollars, though. $230, maybe? Hard to say, because the value of investments can go down as well as up. The cheeky blighters. I think dollars originated in Bohemia/the Czech Republic, didn't they? Dalers/thalers from Joachimstal? Whatever. A Taranis Tx would set you back at least three furlongs, a groat, and two podules in the States. Incidentally, I know nothing about the illegal puppy trade and feel I should alert the authorities to your alleged involvement in their trafficking or 'running', sir. Have you no shame? ;-)

Wait a minute. I've watched the video eighteen times and counted the steps eighteen times and there are only 732, Robert, not the 734 stated in your video's Description. Typo or deliberate fraud? Scandal! Outrage! Conspiracy! Please explain!
