Hi Joshua. I recently bought a Jumper T16. I see amazing potential. However, though I've been flying for 20 years I have NO experience with OpenTX or FrSky. Virtually all instruction for the T16 assumes you know OpenTX and/or FrSky. I'm a Spektrum guy. I would to do the legwork to help you create a video series for the Jumper T16 for the complete noob. I don't edit video, but I'd learn just about anything to learn this radio and help others to learn as well. Please respond if you are interested. Like I said, I'd do all the leg work I can. I am disabled and this type of hobby is so helpful to my life!

Got mine yesterday and just love it.. It feels weird ergonomically however compared to my Taranis XD9.. Love the big color screen and moving all my models was easy thanks to this video.

Thanks for the video Joshua. Completely agree with your views on the T16. Its early days in the life of the T16 and there are bound to be a few little issues, which i'm sure will get sorted. I was only thinking today can i transfer my models over from the X9D to my T16 and you answered my thoughts perfectly.

Hi Joshua thank you for the video. I am having trouble binding my Frsky receiver, I didn’t notice you had to press a button on the receiver before you plug in the battery on the quad. Is this step not necessary? Anyway I have tried D8, D16, D16(8 channel) still not binding. I am still trying to figure it out. Hmmm

I ordered one of these today.. You convinced me with the speed/ease of programming.. I currently have the Taranis XD 9 plus with their multi protocol module.. Hope they can update it to use D8 mode soon.,

I just got mine, and the roller no longer requires two clicks after updating firmware. And they added D16 8 channel mode.

I’d be interested if it had an internal multi protocol transmitter like the earlier jumper. Not planning to have jr module swaps be a regular thing for me therefore not planning to buy this.

FYI it's a good idea to open the radio up and check the gimbal connections, specifically the jumper wires on the left gimbal. I ordered from ARRIS and during manufacturing this jumper wire was crimped which causes (on mine at least) the yaw axis to fluctuate wildly at full right yaw. Wildly enough that it sometimes applies about 20% left yaw when the stick is at 100% right yaw. They're taking care of it by shipping me a new one. But check the monitor thoroughly before flying just in case.

Hey Joshua, just bought a Jumper T16 Pro (the one with the Hall effect gimbals). It's been a bit of steep learning curve but I finally got up the courage to bind my TinyHawk (RTF model) to the Jumper radio yesterday and finally figured out the switches. Flighs great too. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos on the radio! Are you using the radio for on a regular basis? Thanks again!

i am having issues with the RS for some reason when i slide the slider it isnt going all the way up however on display it is only going half way up the others are working fine for collaboration any help would be greatly appreciated not sure if i will have to open the radio and check on the RS ribbon

Hi Joshua, I am new in this hobby and learning a lot from you. Thank you for all your help. I bought geprc cinequeen 4k and bind it with jumper t16. After wrote models to jumper with companion 2.3 I got an "storage warning bad radio data" on my tx screen and everything was gone (like factory reset). Maybe jumper tx is not compatible with companion 2.3. Do you know any compatible version because I'm tired of doing everything again without the companion?

I'm having the same issue. Don't wanna have to reprogram my models.

I did everything right but when i yaw its going crazy on the throttle. I changed it to aetr and just plugged in my crossfire from my qx7. Made it mode 2 and aetr. Idh to fix it. Might sell it

im new to all this however Ive got a lot of experience flying gliders. what id like to know is can i use my old model dx 6i to fly quads or should i just get a new radio?

A dx 6i will work espically for a brushed whoop, but you will need more channels, eventually. As a spektrum user and fan, I own both a Dx8 gen 2 and a Dx9.For quads or even a mix of different rc models, I think this $150 multiprotocal radio can't be beat, I'm even considering selling my dx8 and buying one

You can actually display the VBAT or A4 value from telemetry on your main screen with the X9D+, you have to select it on the Telemetry page of your model. I'm pretty sure you can also display another telemetry value like altitude if i recall correctly. I also honestly don't use the Betaflight LUA script that much nowadays with all the cool options being available in the OSD, it's kinda just a rescue option if i'm in a hurry. You use opentx companion on the PC.

Found this video very useful in copying my models over from my Tarannis to my new T-16. I copied the models this morning, rebooted the T-16 and it sizzled and smelled of burn chips. I opened it up, couldn't find anything obvious, gave the case a firm rap and then discovered a free gift from Jumper, an extra screw, the type used on the gimbals. It had clearly been dropped by the assembler and too lazy/busy to fish it out, left it where it went on to short and fry the radio.

@@JoshuaBardwell Already wrote to Jumper XYZ and my vendor, who have been very responsive up to now. They are in regular communications with Jumper and speak the same language! I really like the radio and worth putting up with the teething problems of a new product line.

Hi. Has any one bound a corona r6sf rx on sfhss having few problems.

Alert !!! I just got the Jumper T16 Pro. To work with dsm2 and dsmx receivers BOTH internal RF and externa RFl have to be ON in the model setup menu. After hours trying to make it work with the internal RF only and no response I try both on and wala!! works.

Hi Joshua - got my T16 yesterday and followed your instructions to copy and write models from my Taranis X9D. Resulted in Emergency Mode warning. Sounds like the corrective action is to delete all files from SD Card and replace with a fresh set. There appear to be two versions - 2.3 and 2.2. Do you know which I should use? I had the August firmware loaded. Thanks

Don't you need to rebind your transmitter to your receiver each time you go to fly if you set it up this way?

It's selling so fast that everybody is running out of stuck. RaceDayQuads and Rotor Riot had stock literally yesterday.

I am torn between this transmitter and the Taranis X9D SE. Newbie to quads and would like to spend a little more for quality.

Well I saw in one video that OpentTX Companion doesn’t support T16. Nice surprise it works with X10 option. Joshua on my iRangeX multi protocol module there is FrSky protocol called ‘D16 8CH’. When you choose it you can select range of 8ch scope. Can you check if it’s available on T16 module and if ‘LBT(EU)’ and ‘LBT 8ch’ are included? Thx.

I have an EU version (or rather, I bought it in the UK, that may be at odds :-). Mine has all the protocols you mentioned.

i'm using the latest version of OpenTX companion (2.3.1) and trying to copy and paste my models from the Taranis X9D but running into a problem when I hit Read/Write and write to the Jumper T16. I've followed your video and created a new profile and before the copy paste read the models and settings from the radio. Nothing seems to happen when i Write the models and settings back to the radio. When I disconnect the USB I get an error stating "Storage Warning - Bad radio data - Press any key". Then it dispalys a message that it is going into a storage preparation mode. Finally it displays the calibration screen and has me calibrate. Help

I downgraded OpenTX Companion to 2.3.0- after seeing that my radio's firmware version was 2.3.0. I went through the same process as above and got the same error message as above.

When hall effect gimbals are standard I might switch but my QX7S is my baby at the minute

Does this radio support R9 module?

I'll wait for the pro, plus or V2 when the Hall effect gimbals are standard.

I think the Hall gimbals main advantage is that they don't wear out after long term extensive usage. The M7 and M9 gimbals however will wear out from dirt due to their open design long before that unfortunately. The standard gimbals on the T16 feel great and the values in the channel monitor are rock solid.

There are issues with ribbon cables on the T-16 Pro. I'm having all kinds of issues that require re-seating the stupid cables. I'm not a happy camper with the T-16 Pro right now.

@@awwtergirl7040 I had the same issue literally out of the box. I had to open it up & unplug the ribbon cable and wipe it with alcohol for the scroll wheel to work. Overall, the radio is very nice though, & that is my only complaint. I love how easy and intuitive it is to set everything up, as I am a complete beginner. Though I agree, you should not have to mess with a product out of the box.

Hi. I tired to set up the widgets in the top bar as per your video, but I cannot find telemetry in the source list, the list just go to Gvars, there is no telemetry after that. where did it go?

You have to go to the Telemetry screen with your quad plugged in and "discover sensors".

JB , Got the green lite on the Rxsr but no Go. Doesn't connect receiver in BF? seen a video on tuning frequency but(t12) ?? I have the t16 Any ideas?

The issue is not related to the T16 once you have bind. Your wiring or FC config is incrrect. Make sure you have the green SBUS OUT wire going to the SBUS pad on your F4 FC, or any UART RX pad on your F7 FC.

Thank you, my outputs stop at 100 and -100 . I would need my outputs to go beyond 100 to have the correct value in betaflight . Calibrated the radio again as well.

Mine will not bind with any Fr Sky receivers I have!

why does the lua script for S6R and S8R work? And be aware that transfer models from taranis need careful checking as they (normally) refer to internal Sender and not the 4in1 external.

Use Mult FS 2A for flysky but I'll let you know I'm have trouble of loosing bind when switching models.

You don't need a separate BEC. The flight controller has voltage regulators on board.

You can use the JR module plug in the back of the radio but you need to re order the pins in the servo plug that you use to plug in the receiver. Use "flash external module".

New jumper T16 pro v2 out now and it's not badly priced, has hall gimbals supports crossfire, USB-C charging what's not to like more switches than you will ever need, especially for multi rotar pilot's (Quad copters)

Followed your instructions. All worked, but now when I turn on the transmitter it says, "Storage warning bad radio data" Then goes to stick calibration. Then after stick calibration it has no models. What's up? How to fix? T-16 Firmware version 2.3.0.

Just got my T16 today went to setup screen and in widgets no telemetry shows up? Anybody ran into this and have an answer?

Telemetry comes from the receiver and the FC. If you are not using a telemetry capable receiver you won't see telemetry in the t16.

How do I get the endpoint set? On receiver tab in BF I can only go as low as 1020 thanks

At 12:06 in the video you get a "Telemetry" option, I don't! I am running Jumper TX-t16 ver 2.2.3 from 2019-05-23. Any idea why? Thanks for the thorough videos. I will learn OpenTx if it's the last thing I do!!

Thanks for your videos. I've like my early QX7. It has been a very good tx for two years. I have run into the need/want for more switches though. My son's Spektrum DXe has become very limited for his Kwad flying recently. That has me considering tx options. Before the release of the Jumper T16, I was pondering the X10S. The X10S is almost four times the cost of my original QX7. Now I'm considering the T16 with my son inheriting my QX7. Switching companies again. I thought it would be nice for my son and I to have the same company products so as to be able to use rx'es, tx modules, etc. I would appreciate your advice on this. Thanks again! Peace...Guy

The Amber sound pack will go with the SD card yes.

i have followed this on the new version and the models are not copying over.

The MPM module has a protocol called D16 8ch which should result in a 9ms cycle.

Liviu's teardown shown that the radio has a board ready for an internal receiver. I guess soon we'll see a T16V2 with an integrated antenna and the board populated with the internal transmitter module and its accompanying components.

But when do we start seeing hydrodipped cases for the T16?

Nobody really seems to be doing hydrodip for rc parts any more. Not professionally. Vinyl skins are more popular.

I followed these instructions to the T and when I select a model it goes into emergency mode. I also don’t have a failsafe setting. Do you know why that might be? I did update the firmware so it should work with my crossfire module.

One of your existing models has some setting that is not compatible with the new radio. Transfer the models one by one to see which one is kicking you into emergency mode.

you need to turn of RF module in Open TX companion and then add it manually in the radio

Side question JB - Are you planning on reviewing the Armattan Marmotte frame or BNF anytime soon? Curious of what you think of it compared to the Chameleon and Rooster. If anyone else has experience with them, can you please chime in? I'm very interested in it, but have been hearing of some pilots breaking the frame quite easily. I get it's under warranty, but what a pain if that's the case. Thanks Joshua, thanks guys.

It's just a telemetry-based lua script. You can download it and run it yourself. Ummm... I don't know where the link is though.

just followed your instructions, but it just go into emergency mode as soon as it had checked buttons and throttle. tried new firmware even if it was the same version and now i end at the startpage until I tried to do anything with the moddel.

Villy Feltmann I am experiencing almost exactly the same thing. Not sure why, probably a version issue. Perhaps I need an older version of open TX companion. Anyway I resorted to manually entering in all of the old models. It’s only 32 so it’s not that bad.

This is due to the Companion program having the model (s) set for the internal Multi module. For each model, you need to turn off the option for the internal multi module. This is with the Horus x10/s as the device selected in companion.

Yes and look up the Flexi firmware just for the R9, it adjusts the R9 power output on the fly up to 1watt.

I can confirm 100% that FrSky D16 and Crossfire telemetry work.

At 12 mins 8 sec I don't have telemetry in my menu, Is there a reason why?
