I saw a video that civilization first formed in South India but after Toba eruption in 70000 BCE and the icr age that followed, ancient humans in south India had to move from southern coasts. Being close to Toba, Indonesia South Inda must have also experience tsunami and other clamaities which made people move north. Their resettlement is what we know now as Indus-Sarasvati Civilization. They say only a few thousands survived the event which would explain why the connection between Tamil and Sanskrit is very less. They both must have come from the same source and we preserved the history through stories and this could have been lost following mihration northwards by the other group. We should probe more into these walls and cities he is talking aboout. Hope one day we will get Agathiyam inscriptions on these submerged walls. Dying to see and hear the works from First Tamil Sangam.

If small countries like Argentina can do LiDAR mapping why can't we in Tamil Nadu do this. Without any excavation or diving we can get printouts of old structures in Kumari Kandam under ground or under sea in a matter of days instead of years. Mr. Seeman looks smart in blue jeans and white shirt.

Englisch just language. If you come to Europe union, people speak only their mother tongue, like French, deutsch, Spanish, Italy, Poland, list goes...they are not preferring English for survival purposes. Because of Media....and some community people created such huge propoganda... This is nice program, which created more awareness about the Echological studies.

Professor Karashima was the recipient of the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contributions in building India-Japan ties. As he could not travel to New Delhi to receive the award, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in a gesture of recognition and respect, personally presented the award to him in Japan. From his first study - a small but ground-breaking essay that he published almost 55 years ago on land control in the two Cauvery delta villages of Allur and Isanamangalam, based on the study of Chola inscriptions - Professor Karashima had to delve deeper into understanding land relations and social relationships in medieval Tamil Nadu. His seminal contribution to South Indian history was his use of statistical techniques to distil information from a mass of inscriptions, thereby lending his interpretations and conclusions a more sound and reliable base. His last major book is A Concise History of South India, published last year. Professor Karashima was instrumental in setting up the International Association of Tamil Research, and had been its president from 1989 to 2010.
