Making my childhood soup Maki Mi

I grew up eating Maki Mi for lunch near the school. It was delicious, hearty and reasonably price. Once in a while I have this craving, today, I will share how I make this sticky pork soup.
Ingredients:
1 lb pork tenderloin sliced thinly
Marinade: 2 Tbsp dark soysauce
1 1/2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce
1/2 tsp black pepper (may substitute white pepper)
1 tsp garlic powder
2 eggs
2 cups sweet potato starch
32 oz no salt chicken or pork broth, may use more
1/2 cup dark soysauce, more to taste
1/3 -1/2 cup water for the slurry
wanton or egg noodles optional or can serve plain
green onions

I just tried cooking this tonight and it hit home. It’s so close to my Papa’s recipe which is sadly I cannot taste anymore because he’s gone. Thank you for sharing this. -watching from TX.

I love it at Ha Wan near Benavides St. When I was growing up, I ate this a lot for lunch. 2 to 3 pesos lang per bowl.

Yep, my favorite spot. Not sure if it is still open. Didn't stop there last year when I visited Manila.
