Making Art That People ACTUALLY Want to Buy! - The Secret Stories behind Paintings
Ойын-сауық
For this video, I transformed my paintings into actual stories. In today's age of social media, this aspect of art-making seldom receives attention, even though it's one of the things people care about the most when viewing art... Storytelling! #painting #drawing #illustration #art #oilpainting #sketch

I have never in my life written short stories before, so be kind 😅🙏. But the bigger point is how little room social media gives us to share, experience and talk about other aspects of art which are in most cases infinitely more important than technique, skill, etc. This is really a little experiment. And even though I already kinda know that hardly anyone will be interested in this video I felt the need to at least try to get people interested in and inspired by these kinds of things 🫶

Please! I watch for the art. Not for storytelling. Love the art. I can go elsewhere for storytelling.Besides, I thought this one was to tell how to paint art people want to buy! Not about a cow’s life.
Made it to the end, it’s interesting how adding small things or twisting them a bit can make a painting more thought provoking! Nice video!

these stories were so immersive and very sweet :) thank you! I think knowing those stories makes the painting more magical, and if I had them hung up I would proudly tell the stories to curious guests :)

The first time I've ever felt emotionally invested in a cow painting. Awesome.
Love the stories and the paintings. you transported me to my childhood (this kind of tales were my favorites), so thanks for the nostalgia and the inspiration

I just love how the white snow cow is in on the foreground but the mysterious ufo brings your attention for 1 second and then goes back to goregous easygoing cow
This video is absolutely great! What a delight! The paintings process, the stories, the editing, the music, the narration... I love everything about it! Good job! I'm looking forward for more!!!

Thank you for such an inspiring video. 20 years ago I used to tuck my daughter up in bed and make up stories based in a far away land about the adventures of animals that lived there. I’ve been meaning to paint that place … and now I will 😊
not quite what I expected from the video after only reading the title but the surprise was pleasant! I personally really enjoy it if things have their own story, so yes I liked listening to them. Sort of hiding something into the painting like the flying ufo is a fun idea anyway even without the story
My heart is SO moved by the stories. Specially Rufus’s
I like the paintings but i simply adore the quirky stories. The two combined - an absolute winner.
The story definitely makes the painting more interesting and sophisticated Luv the stories and paintings 💗
I feel like every good image comes with a story. Whether it was created out of boredom at 2AM due to insomnia or it took a year to put what was on their mind to canvas/paper. It always just adds that pop of life that makes the art all that more extraordinary and I feel like you captured that here. Nice work
Excellent. Different is good. As Rick Rubin says, “the world isn’t waiting for more of the same.”

Probably not unfortunately 😄. This video is the worst viewed video I’ve made in the last couple year and the honest truth is that I can’t justify the time and effort if not enough people are interested. But I’m happy to know that everyone who gave it a chance was positively surprised 🫶
He makes painting these interesting animals seem so effortless. And the stories of their interesting lives seem so realistic just like the paintings.
I’ve been getting better at imaging more detailed/refined scenes! Your videos help inspire me to draw them!

this is so beautiful! my favorite part about art is telling stories and convey a feeling in the painting
Very mesmerizing. The background stories add a lot emotional connection to the painting.

What can I say, it definetly worked! I loved the story’s and that made me love the paintings even more ❤ I hope you will do this kind of video again 🥰
The story about Rufus choked me up. I recently lost my best friend and the placard being placed in remembrance of Rufus reminded me of the placard I have in remembrance of my best friend Havok. I miss him so much... Wonderful paintings, even if I type this in tears.
The first story is my favorite. Please do more!
rufus"s made me chuckle like a kid, thanks for being
This was a treat! I loved the stories, great job! They really do make the paintings more fun and whimsical. ✨
Eine gute Geschichte, die sich auf ein Bild bezieht finde ich richtig klasse, deswegen liebe ich Illustrationsbücher so sehr, da Bilder der Geschichte nochmal etwas besonderes geben 💚
The paintings were beautiful and so fun to watch. The stories were quirky and enhanced the meaning behind the painting.

"Here sat Rufus"...and I had to go get my pup, and together we re-watched your tale of the typing dog 🤩 This video was really fun and whimsical, I hope that it does well. It's the kind of content I wish I saw more of on youtube. Already looking forward to your next one!
Lots of fun! When I was a kid there was a television program I watched in school that told a story while an artist did a chalk drawing illustration. Kids loved it! As an adult, when I was babysitting kids, I’d give them all paper and crayons, then tell them they would need to make drawings while I told them wildly imaginative, comic stories I spun from the moment. When they weren’t busy drawing they were laughing and always went home to their parents happy. 😂 I think you should do more videos like this; it’s multilevel art.👍
I love this idea! So creative and adds so much more to the painting

Absolutely it makes a difference!! I just spent two enchanting weeks with my seven year old niece and 11 year old nephew. Story was at the essence of everything we did. Their desire for story was endless. Even their parents began to watch in amazement at my seemingly endless story time sessions. What I gleaned from it was that story…was merely the medium through which I said “I love you two.” That message never gets old. Story connects memories and emotions. Your paintings, when combined with story, similarly anchor in our minds and hearts. I for one delighted in today’s video.
Love the stories. They bring me back to childhood. They add magic to ones art.
Please continue to do these story / painting videos, wonderful! Thank you, Wayne.
I love these!! thank you for the stories and the paintings.
The stories are adorable! I don't have a story for all of my miniature figure painting, but the ones that turn out best at least have a story for the scene or motivation. It is a fun challenge to see how I can convey the ideas into the art. Sometimes it gets lost, sometimes not. I love your cow and dog tales :) The little space ship in the sky is so subtle and just right! It reminds me of some street signs in New Mexico. They have lots of UFO lore, and people put stickers of cows getting abducted by aliens onto the cow-crossing signs.
This is what it's about, I Love it! All of it is about the emotion and the storytelling and connections built between us all, a way of communication and conveying our Love for one another! Trying to make up little story for even the tinniest doodle, gives it that much more Life and makes it really feel alive! Great Paintings too, I really Love the cow story, just goes to show how even a cow, can change the whole city!
Super cool Alpay. Loved the stories and loved the paintings. I entered a trance during the video, imagining as you painted. I believe that I will get a bit of that experience and of the story the next time I see these paintings, which makes them way cooler. For me, the experiment was a success!! ❤❤

The story was so much fun to listen to while looking at the painting come alive! I have always thought you have a particularly smooth voice and the narration was so well emoted and just perfect. Thank you :)
it definitely added depth to an already amazing work. If could afford, I'd surely buy bough paintings !
I truly thought these were published stories! They're so sweet and simple and thought-provoking. Stories behind art pieces are what makes them interesting for me, in the first place. Sadly, social media has influenced people to only look at the surface. I have been craving for this kind of art-making + storytelling that seems to be getting lost through time. T_T I hope you will make more of this. :)

@@AlpayEfe what a coincidence 😊 I'm so happy to see creators with social media presence who just posts what their heart desires. Nowadays, people only want to consume short and fast-paced art-making videos and it's become so hollow. Keep doing you! ❤
I like the quirky stories to go with the paintings. Adds a nice context to them. Beautifully painted as always.
I loved this! The stories filled me with a sense of nostalgia and the painting coming to be at the same time was just on point. Do more if you ever feel like it!
I loved the paintings so much! I just wish you'd draw a window with a kid peeking to watch the dog, or something else since the background is, to my preference, a bit dull and empty, but overall THE STORIES. Enchanted really.
I loved the stories! Watching you paint is so captivating, it puts a smile on my face!
I watched the whole video and loved it! I'm a western artist and mostly paint cowboys, indians, and animals. Story telling is so important to me. As I choose references, I don't like to just pick anything. I want to have a reference for example a young mother from Iowa, training horses on her family's farm. The connection for viewers, knowing that what they're looking at isn't just a pretty picture, but a real one with a story and emotional pull. That's what really draws me into a painting, and your stories accomplished that. Great job. I recently found your channel and I'm hooked!
I've loved all your videos so far but i think this one touched me the most. It reminded me of reading ladybird books as a kid and they hsd the most fantastic paintings in them to illustrate the stories and your video really took me back to that. Thank you for always inspiring me. Please do more of these. The stories are pretty fun and creative
The stories braught an added depth and life to the paintings. I was especially mesmerized by the dog story. Thank you
I LOVE THIS ! As an artist, and part-time storyteller for my family, I really appreciate this video. And don't worry, the stories were amazing. I loved them. Oh, and the paintings turned out great.
I'm always enchanted watching your paintings come together - the story time just made it even better. Always make it to the end!
Make it through? I love this format so much I've watched multiple times already 😊 I often watch art videos before bed to wind down and this felt like an amazing bedtime story 😊 You've made something I didn't even know I needed in my life, but now I need a whole playlist of your art stories 💜 🤞
The stories were great! I didn't know you wrote them yourself until the very end! This was a very pleasant video to watch. Interesting paintings and also, I haven't listen to story in a very long time! Thank you for your videos! 🎨
Beautiful paintings and stories! 🐄🛸🐕📕 Some of the most satisfying painting sessions are when I’m just free to do what I want and a story/character comes to surface.
These stories are wonderful and heart felt. All of your paintings are are so complex in their seeming simplicity. Thank you for you!!
I wish I could love a video a million times, this was awesome, and yeah I also had a tear in my eye about your story about Rufus. Thanks for a great video this was amazing!
Stories definitely add to the value of the painting. The story can be retold over and over till it has a life of its own.
Please do more! :D The storytelling while you were painting were extremely immersive and delightful! Thank you. I often try to have some backstory for my paintings, but suddenly always my brain gets blank. Then I often default to studying a reference because of my lack of imagination...
It took me until the end of the video to realise you are the one who wrote these stories ! I thought they were real local tales from small towns. They were enchanting and definitely improved the paintings, you inspired me to try and create stories for my drawings as well.
I loved both of these paintings and didn’t see the story context associated with them. The story makes these paintings even more amusing!❤
Loved this!!! Would absolutely love to see and hear more stories like these!! Outstanding!
Those were fun! I have always found the job of art is telling stories. I found myself writing stories for every character I drew and never connected with fandoms in a way like others. I preferred my own stories and characters. Even today, fanarts are not my thing. It's really about just bringing something new to the world. I enjoyed your tales as much as your art!
I fell in love with Rufus and Elsbeth ❤❤❤
You are an artist in more ways than one. Those were wonderful stories, I especially loved the one with Rufus, you are a writer. Some of the artist that I know are writers, even though that's not their forte, they still enjoyed it from time to time. I believe that most creatives have more then one talent, it just has to be explored. Yes, the story did give a deeper perspective into the paintings, and it was a wind of fresh air. Thank you for a great video! Keep practicing your writing when you have time and you will surprise yourself.
Love the stories that go with the paintings. Both paintings look very nice too🥰
Absolutely loved them!!❤🎨
These stories were really interesting and compelling! I actually choked up a little in the cow story. The dog story was enchanting! As for the paintings- they’re both rich and wonderful, and I think the stories aded to them. I am currently working on my own paintings, and foe the first time noticed some style elements in your paintings that I hadn’t noticed before. All around an enriching experience! Thank you!
Now I can‘t unsee it. Everytime I catch a cow looking up, I am checking the sky 😄
I loved this! I realized half way through that I was grinning while I listened to the stories and watched you paint. I would love more like this!
I like the lore behind the beautiful art pieces! So fun!
Such a good video and topic! I love the cow story, especially when you started painting a ufo in the sky ahaha.
Elsbeth und das Ufo, einfach köstlich!😄👍 Tolles Video!
Oh this was a great video - so immersive, I w̶a̶n̶t̶ need more of these. Beautiful work.
Hahaha, good storys an good paintings, love the Imagination ❤
I loved the stories! Painting is a dream of mine, one which I'm saving until I have a bigger space to really enjoy it. Thank you for showing us your art!
I love the painting, story, music combo!

Rufus could go on to be a short film man, having tales definately add to the painting. Not only enriches the audiovisual experiece of the video but almost turns the paintings into illustrations/concept art of these micro worldbuilds. That was a good one Alpay, hope you had fun experimentating with it!
Love all your videos. Thank you!
The stories are wonderful.
I loved both stories, they added so much surprise, intrigue and emotion to each painting. I'm always making up stories for my paintings so I feel like I can really relate to this. Keep doing these for sure, I'm here for it!
Love this format! Thank you for another wonderful video!
Perfect pairing of narrative and brush strokes, colours and voice, sharpness and blurr (both in story and picture). Loved the timing, the sound effects and music. Thank you so much for sharing, Alpay. 😘
The art, the stories and the video editing. So pleasing to watch.❤
Wow!! What an idea. You sir are a very talented painter and I commend you on your inventiveness allowing us to use our own imagination as you tell the story. It definitely keeps us watching until the end to find out what happens. Don't you dare even consider stopping! Lol. I am 65 years old and and have been trying my painting since retired 2 years ago hope someday to be even a 1/4 as talented as you. Thanks again for your playful way and refreshing approach to your profession. P.S. I love dogs too.
