Making a Bound Edge Seam 1911 Holster with Milled Leather Liner ASMR Leathercraft
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this leather working video I make a 1911 leather cross draw holster with geometric stamp tooling and edge binding. Some may call this a turned edge or a French binding. But since it's a separate piece of leather from the lining it doesn't really qualify as a French binding. I've also switched to using a milled leather for my linings so I can glue and work on them 'flat' instead of having to roll them as in previous videos. I highly recommend this!
Stamps I used on this holster (purchased at ProLeatherCarvers):
SOZO LX2 Geometrics Diamond Lined Pattern Stamp
Barry King - #2 Barker / Veiner Stamp

When I was a kid, in the early 1950s, my mom had a friend, Helen Corwin, who was a leather maker. Helen made everything from gloves and boots to belts, chaps, saddles, bridles, etc. if it was made of leather, she made it. Her trademark was “Corwin Maker.” She worked out of her living room and the house smelled so good!
Your hands have magic in them. A gift from God.
i am old enough to remember in school we had a SHOP class, leather work, made chisels plastic laminating, great stuff. Today, UFF DA
As a fledgling leatherworker (Hobbyist) your channel is absolutely perfect. Thank you and keep up the great videos.
That is a savage piece of leather work right there. I tip my hat to your skill.
You sure made the box stitching at the end look easy. And the secret to bound edges: fine motor skills and patience. Very nicely done.
BEAUTIFUL. It's what a respected 1911 deserves. Thanks for sharing.
I LOVE your format. Shut up and throw down. I learned in the first 2 minutes what some guys blab about for ten. Thank you for sharing your method!
What an outstanding build and a pure pleasure to watch. Thank you for showing how you create these masterpieces!

Phenomenal craftsmanship!! Wasnt expecting the last few steps you did, the glue on the thread is genius! Hand stitching, applying the thinner leather for the edge and the end cap (muzzle end), excellent job!

This boys and girls is why high end custom holsters are costly. I'm just a amateur, so I can make my own, but I learned more than a few things from this vid. Thanks for making the vid hoss. Excellent high end holster.

The quality of craftsmanship.
It’s nice to see an artisan like yourself making something beautiful the proper way. That holster will be around for centuries. (With enough neatsfoot…;)
Spectacular attention to details!!!

great job u can learn so much by watching a pro thanks for sharing
Although all of your projects are beautiful in their own right this one really speaks to me. A more modern aesthetic for a more modern firearm by comparison. The color choices, tooling and color contrasts are as good as it gets for me.
Beautiful. Great craftsmanship
Nicely done, thanks for sharing!
Master of his craft !
You could be a Neuro surgeon. Sooooo steady!!! Found myself holding my breath when you were trimming the round edge. :)
Excellent workmanship!
Incredible work/art

Thank you, a very nice holster. I thought it was beautiful.
Wow! Beautiful work.
I built a 16" Bowie with a large S-curve guard, my first. And I'm kinda stuck in the design stage on the sheath. This video didn't help that, hehe. But after watching you make this holster. You've certainly earned my respect. I've gotten most of the tools and materials together. But I'm just not exactly sure what I want yet. It's guys like you that make it a challenge for guys like me. Thank you.
Incredible attention to detail well done . Happy trails
Very relaxing watching a craftsman at work , Dave northwest uk

OMG, you are a true master of your craft. Absolutely awesome skills. I’m new to leather crafting, during CoVid lockdowns. But having seen this I’m unsure whether to carry on with my new hobby and be inspired by your work or just be realistic, get my coat and leave the party 🤩
