Making a Custom Leather Thumb Break Holster for a Walther PPK Leathercraft ASMR
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This was a special request for an outside-the-waistband leather holster with thumb-break retention for a very nice Walther PPK. Not necessarily for concealed carry; think more open-carry. There's a bit of gratuitous footage at the beginning showing me prep my work area and sharping my knives. I created this pattern especially for this video. I also applied Fiebing's Resolene for a glossy finish ... something I don't normally do with my leatherwork, but thought it gave the holster a more classy look ... which definitely fits the PPK. Make sure to subscribe for more leather working / leather craft videos!

I made a pancake holster for my walther P99 5 years ago it's time I make another the fit and function of this holster is awesome when I get a pattern I'll be all set ! good work and keep the videos coming 👍 1👌👏👏👏
Excellent design of the snap strap/belt loop! I've done mine like that before but never designed it half as well as you did. Very very good design overall and great looking holster to boot! Well done! I like the way that type of belt loop design makes the pistol grip hug the body.
Beautiful craftmanship. Thank you for sharing !
Pure artistry.
you're an amazing crafter my friend, incredible stuff =)
Such an inspiration to craftsmanship.
Great job. Congratulations
Beautiful holster for a beautiful weapon.
Fascinating to watch you work , sweet holster also
Top-Notch as always! 👍

You make it look easy my man ! 👍 Beautiful work
Fascinating to watch a Master Craftsman at work.

Wonderful job. You can be proud of your effort. Blessings on you and yours. As ever just Tom
Wow, nice work
Just watching your work has helped me with my tooling way better than the videos explaining tooling. You actually show the process and buying quality stamps helped as well
Beautiful work brother…..
Just bought a ppk/s myself thanks for the tutorial, I couldn't decide on a style for the holster.
Excellent!
Absolutely beautiful!! So simplistic, fantastic fit and finish! I wish there was a way I could buy that exact pattern from you for my weapon Th
Excellent stuff, brother!

Saludos que buen trabajo👍👍👍
great video...
Fantástica artesanía y un producto verdaderamente hermoso. Haces cosas maravillosas con el cuero......Saludos, Anaco, Anz.
Awesome project and workmanship! Would you consider selling the pattern for the holster? A .pdf image wound be perfect. I made a holster for my PPK/S but yours is much more beautiful.
Beutiful Holster....👍
Wow! Cool!
Looks great! Do you ever sell the patterns? I'm just getting into leather and that looks like a great one to build.
I need me one of those...
mr. road agent you are the man. is this pattern available for purchase?
Привет, очень красивые работы у вас))
Beautiful work. Is there a rule of thumb for leather weight? Could a small pistol like that use a lighter leather and still not get all sloppy over time? Just thinking for maybe a “ladies weight” rig.
Excellent craftsmanship as always but I'm wondering how the thumb break will work with the holster tight against your waist?

Thanks! Only a little 'give' is needed by either the leather or your body for it to unsnap.

Don't put the belt loop up too high and you won't have problems with the thumb break strap.
I would like to have something like that for my Taurus g3c
Maestro, quiesiera saber si ese pegamento blanco que usted usa, es comercial o es casero?
Шикарна робота. У вас немає такого шаблону під Beretta 84 ?
I am really enjoying your videos. Is that a Cobra class 26 machine? What size needle and thread are you using in it? I like the look of that size stitching.

What thickness leather did you use for this holster, and where can I find heavy duty snap fasteners with longer posts such as yours? Wonderful work!

How to order that for a P365LX with a cut out for an optic ?

When you put the groves in what the space apart from the edge and from each other.?
@RoadAgentLeather

From the edge of the leather I generally put my stitch line the same distance as the thickness of the leather. All other lines/groves have no specific rule. I just place by what I think looks best.
Thank you for another wonderful video. I learn something new every time I watch you work. I just did a reproduction of a Nagant revolver holster for a special request. I was pleased with the finished product and made a short video if you would be interested.
hello Sir where did you get the leather sand bag you use ? or did you make it

Are you referring to my shooting rest bag? I purchased it years ago at a gun store. Though I never use it as a shooting rest anymore! :)
BRA🥰VO!!!!!! 🙏👍 😉
I always thought that you are supposed to dye the edges before you burnish them, otherwise the dye will not penetrate as well
@RoadAgentLeather

In this case I wasn't going to dye the main edge. Thought it looked better natural.
Another awesome job, would really like to have you make a holster for me How do I get in touch with you?

I occasionally take commissioned work. It depends on the gun you're needing it for. I don't have patterns for them all. Look me up on my Etsy page "roadagentleather"

@@RoadAgentLeather It's a 1911 series 70 stainless with blue and black grips and would like to get one you did in the video "Bound edge 1911" Only I would like it in Blue and black to match the grips.
Where can I buy this holster?
What's the background music, if you don't mind.🤔

Where can I get the template from please?
resolene in a air gun ... nice move! gonna have to try that
What would you charge to make me one, exactly like that one - for a Walther PPK/S?
The problem with this is the retention strap goes across the back strap. This impedes a smooth draw. Otherwise your work is awesome thanks for the video

Thats a lot of gun in a small package. All steel. I have a lil Bauer .25 and its heavy for a .25.

It's a really nice gun. Too bad it's not mine! But to be honest, if a gun can't slide into my jean pocket I generally won't carry it. The PPK is still a little large and heavy for pocket carry.
1:45 _Please, don't._ You can't buy new thumbs. Heed this advice of a worried watcher, and fellow leatherworker. Do not thake those cuts towards your own hand, 'key? Do it for us, and for you!

@@Stillnapie Yes he is. I've been also working with knives since I was 12 (am 51 now) and I've only _once_ had an issue. And _once_ is enough. You know, every single person who ever was killed in a car crash also had been not been killed in a car crash so far.

@@notfeedynotlazy well my father gave me my first pocket knife when I was eight.. I’m now 62 so I think I have a bit of experience. I’ve been carving more than twice as long as you have been alive… He is in no way doing anything remotely dangerous.
