these kind of drills are what we, as karate practitioners lack of. Although there is a long way to hone our art. Thanks a lot for sharing!!

Wing chun sticky hands concepts there are thr same as in karate. Not all karate schools practice this concept.

I have a quick question about karate.to me martial arts is all about evolving.constantly.don’t u think it’s better for a karatka to focus more on striking, grappling like it’s tegumi, cardio, strength, technique training etc then focusing on the “application of the kata”u only have so much time to train your students.I think it’s far more effective to get straight to the point when it comes to martial arts.not all only get straight to the point with techniques but to also make sure they work by pressure testing.to me I think this is why boxers and kickboxers are so effective.bc the majority of there training is drilling, strength training, pad work, instead of kata, then learning the bunkaj then this then that😂plus karate started off teaching the application first.I think it’s best to teach kata AFTER a student has learned how to fight, understanding striking and grappling (which in karate would be its tegumi mixed with a grappling art).what do you think about this?

Agreed! There is a group, a wave of practice, called practical karate. These guys are my colleagues. we are all obsessed with cross training seeking out functional practises to integrate back into our game. If you look at my video, this is what I and members of our team do on a regular basis….. There is a place for forms / drills. But you have to transition into pad work and live drilling/ sparring quickly. I look at Karate as a tool set…. By cross training with combat sport players, different traditionalists, and tactical combative instructors….. I integrate their methods into my Karate…. This gives me a very strong pressure tested That allows me to grow and evolve. So in the end, I agree with you.
