Hi @neisha, so the cumin and fennel combination worked together? I never thought of that combination. I put cumin in just about everything I cook. Another nice combination is fennel and coriander especially on fish.

@@user-zl1wk3um1m the combination seemed unusual to me as an American but this flavored the oil so nicely, it was great. I dont even like cilantro and I had seconds, so good !

This recipe is what I would call "comfort food"! I make something similar with potatoes, onions, garlic, kielbasa, and capsicums. I use similar spices but add dill weed and mustard powder with a bit of turmeric as well. I cannot wait to try this dish, though as its simplicity seems to steal the show.

The potatoes blend well with the chicken, it looks quite appetizing.☺👌

I made this for dinner last night with a side salad and it was absolutely delicious. The spice/herb combination wasn't one I would have thought of myself but it was a truly wonderful mix. The sweetness of the fennel seeds and the earthiness of the cumin seeds along with the subtle floral note that the thyme brings really struck a lovely balance. The squeeze of lemon at the end added a ton of brightness, complimented by the heat lent by the ground paprika and red pepper flakes. I'll definitely be making this again and will be looking further into Kenyan cuisine from now on with this guy as my first professor.. Thanks Chef! Edit: I made this a second and then third time. I love this chicken/onion/potato preparation, i intend to keep it in my rotation and I hope you do too.
