tyjghjghhh Asia was at peace and working together just fine when the West smashed through the region and annexed all those little brothers. We don’t hate each other. But some locals do find those who stand with Westerners and want to go back to the colonist apartheid days as despicable. And Asians really have issues with letting grudges go.

What an amazing forum. Tun Mahathir shows the world what a true statesman should be - enrichment of economy through collaboration based on a healthy consensus. Also shunning away fear mongering attempts by certain parties and sticking to a public call out for nations to work within the boundaries of international law to guarantee mutual growth. Amazing.

The most powerful and truthful speech I have ever heard in living memory in an international forum. Has this speech been reported in full in all the mainstream Malaysian newspapers like Berita Hadrian, Bernama, naturally translated into Bahasa Malaysia, New Straits Times, The Star, Malaysian Indian newspaper? Malaysian has to be mighty proud of Dr Mahathir for speaking the truth of the world present situation, wars in most parts of the world, and especially the current conflict and trade disputes between the United States of America and China which could spark up a world war because they both have the capability to destroy millions and millions, I dare billions of people if one madman hits a button

Quoting a great visionary statesman, whose footsteps Henry Kissinger followed seven years later, to go to China, who himself was founder owner in a central bank, speaking in Geneva some 55 years ago: PROSPERITY IS INDIVISIBLE “ Prosperity, like Peace, is indivisible; that to enjoy prosperity with security, one has to share it with others. Perhaps this last realisation is not yet complete or is still vague and indistinct. It may be that though the realisation may have dawned, there lingers a feeling that even if prosperity has ultimately to be shared, it can still be enjoyed exclusively for sometime to come. We can understand this feeling, and we should not be too hasty in our accusations, or too harsh in our judgment. There is a psychological inertia in all of us - a subconscious resistance to change, particularly when the present suits us very well. But though we may appreciate the cause of such a feeling, it is important, if it really exists, that it should be overcome as soon as possible. The teeming millions who live outside the precincts of this prosperity- but nevertheless see it and covet it, are getting impatient for an improvement in their lot, especially, as they have contributed, and are still contributing, in no small measure, to the prosperity of the industrially advanced world.”
