In the Q&A, all seems to focus on individual freedom and democracy, in that under Mr. Mahathir it was not adhered to. To all the questioners please don't forget till 70 odd years ago the Europeans went around the world and did autocratic rule and killed innocent natives. All the law which you are talking now as antidemocratic is formulated by them, also one should be aware of Vatican dictatorship. There is nothing called ideal state, Iam sure that none of the questioners held leadership roles with responsibilities, once you do it you will come across how difficult to follow idealism and be in the seat and do something of merit. Iam not sure many of us will live up to 90plus years like Mr. Mahathir, even if one does can hold high office like him. In short the people have failed to take in some wisdom from him, which is their loss not Mr. Mahathirs. I would say he held his fort well. Learn from people, just don't criticize.

You’re a legend for having such an observation and viewpoint. He raised a lot of solid points he did what best he could for his nation as a whole. Despite his efforts of bumiputra the Chinese still are the major billionaires the TOP billionaires are still chinese and not the natives so easily he could’ve used the rule of law against them, he allowed them to do commerce in Malaysia fairly. People fail to see this and raise this point that despite trying to help the natives bridge the wealth GAP with the natives, the minorities still are the TOP richest in the country. A simple TOP 10 or TOP 100 richest in Malaysia would easily prove my point. Mahatir may has his flaws but we can’t deny that Malaysia is what it is today thanks to his leadership.

I'm a Malaysian and I deem Mahathir a hypocrite. He told on his fellow of power abuse when he himself abused his power during his reign. He destroyed 2 prime ministers after his stepping down from power because they don't want to be his proxies. The other 2 that do became his proxies failed to deliver his objectives. I once respected Mahathir and respected his decision to step down and gave up on his race. It's his choice. But when he wanted to go for round two after his proxies failed, all respect lost. He's a prime example of good people lived long enough to be the bad guy.

Tun Mahathir has exceeded his expiry date decades ago, thus he should keep his mouth shut tightly and pleased don’t make himself a laughing stock.

Karlo Fernandez indians and chinese were indeed regarded as immigrants initially before Malaysia did gain independence from British Empire. As things change now, we’d no longer call them as immigrants simply because they’re now apart from Malaysia. They are Malaysians. We all love each other. But never to forget the history. we could never learn how to handle certain things in life or to appreciate things if we do not learn from our history. Same goes to this situation bro.
