Magnesium: 700 Reasons Why You Need It! - Dr. Osborne's Zone

Have you ever been woken up by a leg cramp that you can’t seem to shake? Suffered with muscle tightness no matter how much you stretch out. Or find yourself plagued by regular migraines that leave you paralyzed for hours or even days? While these may lead you to believe that something is catastrophically wrong with your body, it could be something as simple as a deficiency.
So what is this nutrient deficiency that can wreak havoc on the body? Magnesium is one of the most well-known, highly researched nutrients. It has 700 different functions, which is the most of any nutrient. Some believe that there may be more that have yet to be discovered.
Here is my favorite Magnesium supplement: www.glutenfreesociety.org/sho...
Join us LIVE on Tuesday night at 6PM Central as we take a deep dive into this essential nutrient!

Great information! ❤️ My great grandma lived to be 98. Didn’t eat much sugar, did not take any prescription meds, and soaked her feet in Epsom salts all the time. No major health issues and her mind was super sharp until she had to have surgery at 97. I’m convinced that low sugar diet and the magnesium from the Epsom salts really contributed to her longevity.

From reading the comments, it’s heartbreaking. How many people have had such losses from people that blindly have complete faith in their doctors. I do believe doctors (most anyway) have the best intentions, and genuinely want to help people that being said, you need to understand A few things , medical school teaches pharmacology. There is often very little(less than 40 hours) spent on nutrition. Insurance doesn’t pay for vitamins/minerals. And if these doctors actually ’cured’ your ailments, they would quickly be out of business, and we certainly wouldn’t be able to support the hundred billion dollar cancer industry (yes, I said, industry) It’s a travesty. Thank you for videos like this. We need to be our own advocate, and keep healthy. God bless.

Hemp seed hearts are another good food source of magnesium. Three tablespoons of hemp seed hearts contains 45 percent of the RDI for magnesium. And since hemp seed hearts are very low in phytic acid (which is found in high amounts in most seeds), the magnesium in hemp seed hearts is more fully absorbed than the magnesium from other seeds is, since phytic acid inhibits the absorption of magnesium (and other minerals).

I ended up in the hospital twice after passing out for 2-3 hours each time. Thankfully, the second Dr did a blood panel, and it showed almost no Magnesium. They gave me a bag of Mg IV. When I got home, I researched it, and found a good supplement. I take it with my Ca and Vit D3 capsules. I have taken it for a year, and no more fainting! An added benefit is I have fingernails that don't break, peel, and split. They are strong enough I can have long nails that I can actually paint! So exciting. No help with my baby-fine. thin hair though...

If the majority of our population is low in magnesium, then the average itself would be artificially low and you may be within that artificial range and still be low for your own physiology. I had to ask for magnesium test because the blood panel didn’t include any form of it. They wanted to give me sodium for computer flagged low sodium level, without even a glance at potassium and magnesium, both of which were scraping the very bottom of the “range” but still technically inside it, so they didn’t flag and nobody noticed until I asked!

Thank you very much for this video, the detail but also given concisely.. Very helpful, and appreciated 🙏 I am not on any meds ~ I say I'm phobic about them, which is true, I get unpleasant shivers at the thought of taking any, so they likely would do me harm, tho my dear papa is on 11 & trusts his doctor/s, and his trust, his total belief that these are really good for him, must be positive for his health.. I hope so anyway. I am lucky my GP is kind & has given up offering me chemicals but she is happy to monitor me which I need as I am on benefits for health issues, hypothyroid & diabetes & others.. Which all happen to be mentioned in the description of Magnesium Deficiency! Which I have wondered about.. Including when I took Mg years ago the cravings for chocolate diminished, which astonished & delighted me.. But leaky gut & absorbtion issues I fizzled with supplements generally, not knowing what best to do, & having financial challenges too. It is quite a labyrinth /minefield /jigsaw puzzle trying to become properly well, even to find the right guidance. I am already taking some lyposomal Mg soft-gel capsules of 2200mg of Mg Threonate, Glysinate & Citrate, was the best option I could find, I don't know if it's being absorbed or is enough, but I am managing to greatly reduce dark choc, which was a major craving before. I am sleeping more but also have started to do Earthing, including an indoors way, a conductive metal stick into the ground, a thin cable thro the window (it's a bungalow) to a conductive band around my ankle. I also had a live blood analysis about a month ago & started taking 2-3 drops, twice daily in glass of water, of Methylene Blue, which was shown to make a significant difference to blood cell separation & flow. Been low carb for several years after many years of sugar-addiction & emotional-eating. Trying to eliminate snacking & working towards IF Intermittent Fasting which seems to be what everyone healthy is doing! Learning about Oxylates too. And Jesse Inchauspe Glucose Revolution book ways to reduce blood sugar spikes. Stress is still a conundrum. Lucky I don't like coffee or tea or alcohol, & never smoked! Still managed get my body in a mess tho. May we all be well & happy!! 😘💕🎶🌟

Thank you for this information. I’ve been on big dose antibiotics plus anti-fungal and didn’t know it depleted magnesium. Will rectify the situation. Now subscribed to your channel.

Magnesium is important for osteoporosis, but also we need vitamin K2 which is the driver of calcium to the bones. Which is why people that take calcium and still have osteoporosis. It's a lack of vitamin K2.

In the choline video you said choline citrate helps magnesium absorbtion. Also i don't think you mentioned that hidden infections/candida/parasites will consume magnesium ( the body uses up much more to fight the problem ) . Carbs and protein need magnesium to be processed but fats don't use it. That's why high fat carnivores have really good sleep/magnesium

And carnivores will also eat a teaspoon to a tablespoon of butter right before going to bed to sleep better!

High animal protein intake may induce hyperfiltration, a dramatic increase in the kidney's workload. Within hours of consuming meat, whether beef, chicken, or fish, our kidneys may rev up into hyperfiltration mode, whereas an equivalent amount of plant protein causes virtually no such stress on the kidneys. red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) have more saturated fat than skinless chicken, fish and plant proteins. Saturated fats can raise your blood cholesterol and increase your risk of heart disease. Atherosclerosis, sometimes called "hardening of the arteries," occurs when fat, cholesterol, and other substances build up in the walls of arteries. These deposits are called plaques. Over time, these plaques can narrow or completely block the arteries and cause problems throughout the body. Just by switching to a whole-food plant-based diet, it's possible to stop and even reverse symptoms of heart disease. The longer you stay plant-based, the more your blood vessels can recover.
