Thank you so much 😀
Great Video dude! Got it now but it's never too late for me.. I'm gonna try these tricks in my next shoot. BTW, I've a question about the GREEN COLOR GEL. Is there no particular White balance number to get magenta background instead of using the slider to increase magenta in camera or tint slider in lightroom. Thanks a lot for the video. Greatly appreciate it. Greetings from Chowdry Photography, Bangalore, India.
Hi Trevor. Thanks for wonderful video. I have question on the 4-step "Custom White Balance Set". Let's say we select orange as solid color (sunset) in step 1. After step 3, the camera will produce the color in background like sunset. Now, in order to have the correct color on the faces and bodies of the objects (couple in this case), we have to use step 4, i.e., use the Magmod gel in the opposite color of orange (I think it's green?) in the magmod sphere/grid to cancel out the effect of the orange that was set in the step 3 (CWB). Am I correct? By the way, in step 4, what do you mean by Primary Color? Thank you.
Wow creative 😀👍

Hope life is well for you in VA, Skip.
Do you have a video when using magmod magbox outside and if your doing sunset pictures
There is a basic working principal to understanding color saturation with color gels. You will learn quite a bit from a Photographer named *Dean Collins* on the subject of producing *Color Chromazones* on your backdrop and subjects. *Shooting at 18% Middle Gray* for any given exposure produces one Consistent Color saturation. If you lower your exposer by -4 1/3 f-stops below 18% gray, you will produce *Absolute Black.* And you if raise your exposer by +2 1/3 f-stops above 18% gray, you will produce *Absolute White.* You now have a working system to create consistent color control and Color Saturation. Between Absolute Black and Absolute White, and 5 Shades in between. You measure your background exposure with a light meter set to *Reflected,* measuring the light falling on your background as your raise or lower your lights output in increments of +1, +2 stops or -1, -2 stops to produce whatever color saturation you are trying to produce. 18% Gray is your Starting point. Starting with your *Subject Ambient* Light meter measurement. *With your Light Meter Set to Reflected You measure and change your Background light output by* : 72% = +2 stops above 18% Brightest Color 36% = +1 Stops above 18% Brighter Color 18% = 0 is your Starting point measurement 9% = -1 Stops below 18% Darker Color 4.5 = -2 Stops below 18% Darkest Color

Thanks so much. I appreciate that! - Trevor
How easy is it change out the colored gels in the MagGel? The video on the MagGel page shows the photographer swapping out colors, but he does that using 2 different MagGels.
Great video

Stuff dreams are made of....
Where did you place the mag beam?
How do you use ND gel ? Please share a example.?
Trevor, If you are an event with crazy disco lights all over the place, can you then combine the blue red green colours together to overcome the effects of the crazy disco lights on your subjects.
Same basic principle, set ambient (background) then flash.
