MagMod Gel Training: Easy Techniques for Correcting & Enhancing Light
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Learn flash photography with MagMod Genius Trevor Dayley! Trevor shows us how to use MagMod's awesome magnetic flash modifiers and fan-favorite rigid polycarbonate gels for color balancing or creativity. In this video, you'll learn the difference between CTO and CTB gels. Using the MagGel and hassle-free rigid gels that pop right into the magnetic holder, you can color balance your flash to the appropriate Kelvin temperature to create flattering skin tones or change the color of the sky. You'll also develop an understanding of how to use MagMod's Creative or Artistic Gel Sets to turn boring backgrounds into moody, visually exciting spaces.

Mixing colors is fun but, I cheat some with color wheels. I got set of two from Amazon. Color Mixing Guides, Color Wheel and Creative Color Wheel. Both are 9-1/4" in Dia. $17.95. I still play with my colors too. Great video, I learn every time I watch his videos. He is very good and sharp as a tack. J. Payne Charlotte, NC.

MagMod I wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your products. After buying two basic Magmod sets , I bought another Chinese knockoff magnetic gel set which didn't last too long. That filter bent quickly because the filter holder and filter were too thin and cheaply made. So I bought a third Magmod set. Your stuff is tough and built for pro use. I use it to quickly color correct my flashes but your tutorials inspire me to use your gels more creatively and to use the grids and your snoot which I bought and never used.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! MagMod creates the simplest, easiest, fastest, strongest speedlight modifiers. Which kit did you recently get?
@libafried5840

MagMod I got the Magmod 2 basic modifier kit a few weeks ago. Last year I purchased 2 basic modifier kits and a snoot. I use the basic kits all the time for color correction. I have one on each off camera flash that I use. ( My Nikon flashes that I use on camera come with gels that clip onto the flash). I never use the snoot, but I should really start using it. I'm just used to using parabolic umbrellas for portraits all the time.
Magmods are fantastic and so is this video. Could you share with us what light stand/tripod you were using that I saw in this video?

Hi Brian, the lightstand I use is the Manfrotto 1004BAC. I have been using them for about 4 years and absolutely love them. A little more pricey than some stands, but they have been worth it.
