The intellect and emotional intelligence of this woman at 25/26 years of age is beyond my imagination. This is the work of God. She is an angel.

This is such a good conversation, especially because of M’s answers. She was só ready to become this famous icon. Her feel for zeitgeist, the industry and marketing was amazingly developed for a 25 year old. Love how she ends with that “don’t apologize”, says so much about her. Another thing: love how she knows that people need a positive, happy album sometimes. Current M should listen to this interview again. ;)

Wow, very interesting to hear her talking about going to the studio to record her second LP. Are there any other interview like this from this era?

I love her innocence here. I had this on picture disc. And saw him on the train in London. He had big big hair!

I don't think there's ever been a more driven artist than Madonna. I wonder if she knew at the time of this interview how huge she was about to become in the next few months.

Much love for Madonna ❤️❤️. Very interested interview. It's different how it's audible. I like in the end when Rick says I'm sorry and Madge says " That's cool, don't apologise". She seems so humble and down to Earth, a real class act. I imagine she would make a real, true friend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for finally posting this. I had this record interview picture disc. The one with her pic from the American Music Awards. But sadly I sold ALL my Madonna albums, 12" remixes, 12" Promos, etc that i had collected since 1986. I still regret it, but I needed the money for school. But i always remembered this interview because my cousin bought me the picture disc 12" with this interview on it. So this takes me back to when I had this, and my room was wall to wall Madonna. Good times. Thank you, again

Thank you for posting! I had this on CD years ago and it was one of the items I had to put into storage but unfortunately lost everything along with it. I've always loved how intelligent and clued-up Madonna came across in this interview. It's here that we realise just how special and rare she is!

She was very relaxed during this phone interview. If you watch other interviews around this time, she is kind of shy and fidgety. You can see shades of how she was going to be in future interviews. I'm so damn grateful that she was so bold and confident, and she didn't know how to be scared or self doubting.

Tough intelligent selfreflected foreseeing respectful 80s New York Girl! Remember she was only 25/26 receiving a foreigners phone call from a different country influencing her young career and future (no picture, no Zoom, no www at this time). Music History 👍 this belongs to a Museum 😁 pretty sure she hasnt changed that much „ inside „

@@thevalkyrie8 😂😂 honey, you compare a 25/26 yr old with an almost 66 yr old, she did 80 sold out arenas in several countries with a high complex and incredible creative show & performance and the biggest standalone concert in history with 65 and you say shes gone backwards ???🙈🤣 Compared to 25/26 yr old shes even more successful, all that without big media and radio support and constantly running against the storm. My recommendation, dig deep in her interviews and latest speeches during the show, if she isnt wise nobody is. Btw, who of the top artists supported the lgbtqia+ prides in person without promoting a whiskey perfume movie album etc ? Yes she did.

I think she ment rather teasing the dog not in a proper manner in front of others, so that she would attract the attention. By now we all know Madonna would never really torture any living being. Besides almost every child torture a bit or once an animal or an insect, children do not have a clear notion of what is cruel and what not
