The interview was conducted before the song Holiday was released to the radio and after the the song Borderline was already a single that was released to the radio networks around the world. These two songs were released during 1982, when Madonna's self-titled debut record was released. What makes you think she's talking about her second record "like a virgin" that was released during 1984 over the world?

Hey MADONNA'S globe! This was 1984...she was talking about a "new" album coming out in the fall n wanted to the first singles off her first record to have their time...she was in the midst of that...her first album was released 7/83 so this is after that...also she mentions first "single off of "next" album set to be released in july which would be like a virgin then the "fall" sept /84 "like a virgin" were to be released ..this interview looks early spring 84 if u ask me...

When she says that "the first thing is gonna be released in America". She was old enough to know that saying America confuses those who do see the words "The United States Of America" on geographical cards and globes. We say "U.S. Customs" "U.S. border", "U.S. currency", U.S. citizenship, etc... Right? Saying "U.S." is easy enough to do I think... And it bring less fights and less confusion....She could easily have said "the first thing is gonna be released in the United States" or "in the U.S." Same thing goes for the Australian man who interviews her. Sir, if you mention "The American charts" - itshould mean the music charts of the 35 countries who do make the American continent (OK' with its substitution of Nortyh, central and South). Or otherwise, change things like the Olympic flag who has a circle for each continent, one if sor America - continent ! Isn't that something...
