Winona used to be a regular at the Blockbuster I worked at in Hollywood and one morning shortly after we opened she came in and my boss left for the bank. Love this and Winona Ryder. She’s made so many great films. This should’ve been longer as her body of work is huge. Where’s “Reality Bites” and “Mermaids”. Would have loved to hear her talk about “The Age of Innocence” and “Alien Resurrection”. And of course, “Bram Stokers Dracula”. She had the rights to the book and brought the script to Francis Ford Coppola and asked him to direct it. It was her way of making up for having to drop out of Godfather 3 at the final hour due to being sick. It left him in a bind having to cast his daughter Sofia in it, which critics said was a disastrous move. Winona felt bad and came back to Coppola with Dracula and to make peace. Would love to have heard her take on all that.

I was a new student from out of town my freshman year in high school, I took Theater as an elective. A girl 2 grades older was in my Theater class, I’ll never forget her. Her name was Alice Grey Lewis & she was goth. She was, in my mind, so cool & mature. I was absolutely fascinated by her. She stood up in class one day & stated to the class “I saw a movie that I think every student in this school needs to see. It’s called Heathers.” She didn’t explain, just sat back down. After school I went to the Indie movie theater that was playing Heathers & watched it by myself. It completely blew my mind & changed how I viewed the cliques. Thank you Alice Grey! You showed me how to spot those girls, and more importantly, avoid them. 🌹

I think her, Demi Moore, Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt and Patrick Swayze literally personify the late 80´s/90’s to me, just like their movies they always remind me of good old times, when things were just light and fun. I was so overjoyed to reconnect with her trough Stranger things, she really deserved a second chance at success and it was just a full circle moment that she made it through Stranger Things which also surfs on the 80’s nostalgia ❤
