In addition to the production of trucks, KAMAZ has its own KAMAZ-master team, which participates in the rally. The team has already won the World Cup in off-road rallies and the Dakar Rally several times. The KAMAZ-master team was formed on July 17, 1988 in Naberezhnye Chelny on the basis of the KamAZ automobile plant. During its 26-year history, the crews of the team have become champions of the main Dakar rally competition in the world 12 times.
Today, KAMAZ offers a variety of trucks, including dump trucks, flatbed vehicles and truck tractors, as well as various specialized vehicles. It also manufactures chassis for military vehicles and armored vehicles.
In 2014, Kamaz launched production of two new truck models, introduced electric buses and began testing the drone. In 2017, the company produced more than 100 truck models, began serial assembly of the Kamaz-5490 Neo and became the first manufacturer of the Kamaz-6282 electric bus. In the same year, she transferred the building of the new plant to Daimler and produced the 1000th gas truck.
In 2020, with the support of the government of Tatarstan, a 5G zone was created on the territory of Kamaz, new models of cars and electric vehicles were presented. In 2021, new K5 models were released, a mining dump truck was introduced and the development of hydrogen technology began.
