Madame Web Flops Media Blame Critical Drinker & Nerdrotic

Ойын-сауық

Madame Web has continued to flop terribly at the box office, but in a hilarious attempt to somehow save Madame Web various media outlets have taken to attacking the critics of Madame Web, focusing mainly on internet critics like The Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic. The article claims that online haters of Madame Web are fuelled by bigotry due to the movie starring a mostly female cast. When in reality the reason Madame Web and other movies like it have continued to flop is because they are simply terrible movies. So in this video I go over why Hollywood is losing it's battle against youtube movie critics, and how they need to learn from people like The Critical Drinker.

    They are successful because they are honest in their opinions. This makes them doubly powerful because not only do they give that opinion about the film but where relevant they know about the source material. Far too often these filmmakers come to these projects and think they will improve on the source, not caring that is why the film is being made in the first place. As for the magazines and "official" critics they have sold their integrity for access and are just discovering what a faustian pact that was.

    In this economy where rent and groceries prices are astronomical, movie tickets with snacks/drinks can run you easily $30-40 per person. This makes the average person picky over what they want to go see. If a movie is telling me that it's not for me or call me derogatory names because I'm male then I will not spend limited funds on those movies. @2 In Italy we have a group of 'nerds' (in their late 20's late '30s) that built up a community to talk about comics, films etc (all things they went to college for) Some of them were already trolling certain topics without fact checking what US MSM were vomiting out, not knowing that in the US the medias works differently 'cause a PR can plant an article even if it's false. Here you cannot do that, so they believed neither in the US, taking every gossip as true. And they're supposed to be the 'professionals'. Btw, the last straw was when the more popular of them started a smear campaign to insult everyone who dared asking questions about ROP. He and his group of 'professional' friends all commented in unison about ROP being fantastic, calling the audience a bunch of ist and phobic. At some point someone with a little channel asked them if they were payed by Amazon... they acted all outraged, called for legal actions (southern italian style: screams, all agitated in front of the camera, red faces). ...well, less than a month after ROP ended, guess who was on Italy Prime tv with a program about commenting films? There's corruption everywhere. People sell themselves for 5 dollars. It's pathetic! That's why when you find just ONE person who doesn't give a f* on internet, and gives you his real opinions, you listen to him. Not because you agree with everything he says, but because you know you can trust that voice. MSM do not understand that. They think that people will trust their brand, but it's not like that anymore. Time has changed because people figured out credentials can be bought.

Not exactly the most progressive role for a black person to win it for.

    Yes, because if there was one thing that audiences have been crying out for it's an all-female rejigging of a popular superhero franchise, let's face it, all female reboots have really ruled lately, superhero movies are going from strength to strength right now and if there is one thing the fan base enjoys it's seeing canon ignored in the genres they enjoy. They nailed it, such a winning combo should have crushed the box office, the only possible explanation is that Drinker and Nerdrotic conspired to destroy such a superb piece of cinematic magnificence. Damn them. damn them to hell.

    I've just checked out some of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. All of the critics (even the legacy media critics; even The Guardian critics) agree that Madame Web is an absolute pile of manure. If you read the audience reviews (average score seems strangely high) it would appear that some of those who spent their hard earned cash (or not?) on actually seeing the movie experienced some kind of life changing event which deeply moved their souls and left them feeling a sense of wonder and joy. I used to think that I could not trust the critics scores (they were all bought and paid for), but should rather rely on the audience scores. Now, curiously, it seems that the critics (or many of them) are calling out rubbish when they see it (even if it ticks the right woke boxes), but that paid for [by the studios?] bots are skewing audience scores to such an extent that the scores are now meaningless.

  • @TheSuperappelflap

    @TheSuperappelflap

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes, imdb is owned by the movie industry (amazon specifically) and rottentomatoes is owned by, among others, disney. They have been using bots for years and years to pump up scores. Its just that, what they are making now is so bad, that they need so many bots to counter the real reviews from real people, that its becoming more and more obvious. But even 10 years ago you could scroll through imdb reviews and find a bunch of 10/10 and 9/10 reviews for recent big studio releases, that are all worded suspiciously similar, with the same key words and sentence structure. Which is indicative of computer generated text. Now with generative AI its also way easier to generate endless variants of the same sentence.

Perhaps Disney executives should have learned then what we wanted, too bad they didn't.
