Within a similar timeframe in WW2, Germany took far larger swathes of Soviet territory than France. That happened after the Fall of France, so the Soviet Union should've been forewarned. Also, by 19th century standards, Napoleon waged quite a Blitzkrieg against Russia, which barely offered battle.

I've been observing Macron for the past months now and would come to the conclusion that the PM demonstrates foresight similar to that of Churchill with regard to the war in Ukraine. Bravo Macron. I am from Poland and for the first time in my life I feel France is our ally. This feeling opens a gate for me to feel a true European ties.
